Read more at www.dsv.com\nLocation: USA - Itasca, N Arlington Heights Rd\nDivision: Air & Sea\nJob Posting Title: Tender Specialist, Project Logistics - 132218\nTime Type: Full Time\nThe Tender Specialist - Project Logistics is responsible for preparing high-quality technical documentation, tender responses, RFIs, proposals, and client presentations supporting complex project logistics opportunities.\nWorking closely with Business Development, Operations, Project Management, Engineering, and other subject-matter experts, the role translates technical and operational solutions into clear, compelling, and professionally structured client-facing materials.\nThe position requires strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills, together with an understanding of project logistics and the ability to articulate complex logistics methodologies and execution strategies.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Tender and Proposal Development\nPrepare technical responses to RFQs, RFPs, RFIs, prequalification requests, and client enquiries.\nReview tender documentation to identify scope, technical requirements, deliverables, and evaluation criteria.\nDevelop technical narratives describing proposed logistics solutions, execution methodologies, and capabilities.\nCoordinate and consolidate input from operational, engineering, commercial, and other subject-matter experts.\nEnsure tender submissions are technically accurate, compliant, consistent, and professionally presented.\nIdentify gaps, inconsistencies, and outstanding information requiring clarification.\n2. Technical Writing and Documentation\nDevelop technical content addressing areas including:\nProject logistics execution plans and methodologies.\nHeavy-lift, oversized cargo, and multimodal transportation.\nOcean, road, rail, barge, and airfreight logistics.\nPort operations, cargo handling, and transport engineering interfaces.\nWarehousing, material management, and construction-site logistics.\nProject controls, reporting, and supply-chain visibility.\nHSSE, risk management, contingency planning, and subcontractor management.\nProject mobilization, implementation, and organizational structures.\nThe role requires sufficient technical understanding to accurately document proposed solutions and challenge incomplete or inconsistent information, without necessarily being responsible for engineering the solutions.\n3. RFI Responses and Client Clarifications\nPrepare and coordinate responses to client RFIs, technical clarifications, and questionnaires.\nObtain and validate information from internal specialists.\nEnsure responses are accurate, consistent with the proposed solution, and delivered within required deadlines.\nIdentify and escalate technical or commercial issues affecting project scope, risk, schedule, or execution.\n4. Presentations and Client Communication\nDevelop professional PowerPoint presentations for tender submissions, client meetings, technical workshops, and management reviews.\nTranslate complex technical information into clear diagrams, workflows, timelines, and executive summaries.\nSupport Business Development and Operations teams in communicating proposed solutions and differentiating capabilities.\n5. Tender Coordination and Knowledge Management\nCoordinate technical contributions, document reviews, submission schedules, and version control.\nMaintain reusable libraries of technical methodologies, case studies, project references, and standard responses.\nDevelop and improve proposal templates, presentation materials, and technical documentation.\nIdentify opportunities to improve tender efficiency through digital tools, automation, and AI-assisted content development.\nRequired Qualifications and Experience\nExperience in technical writing, tender development, proposal management, project logistics, freight forwarding, EPC/EPCM, engineering, or related industries.\nDemonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical and commercial documentation.\nStrong written English, editing, document structuring, and presentation skills.\nAbility to interpret technical scopes of work, specifications, and complex client requirements.\nExperience collaborating with technical and commercial stakeholders.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, with good Excel skills.\nStrong organizational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience in project logistics, industrial projects, energy, mining, infrastructure, or major construction projects.\nFamiliarity with heavy-lift, breakbulk, specialized transportation, and multimodal logistics.\nExposure to logistics execution plans, method statements, transport studies, risk assessments, and project controls.\nExperience developing technical diagrams, process flows, and client-facing presentations.\nFamiliarity with SharePoint, document-management systems, and AI-assisted writing tools.\nThis is a technical proposal development role, not primarily an administrative tender coordination position.\nFor this position, the expected base pay range is $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually.
