This role is a hybrid of architecture leadership, governance oversight, and hands-on technical engagement, supporting secure access modernization across a complex, regulated financial services environment.\nYour Primary Responsibilities:\nArchitecture & Strategic Design\nDefine and maintain enterprise ZTNA and SSE target-state architectures, roadmaps, and transition strategies aligned with DTCC security principles.\nEstablish and document Zero Trust architecture standards, including identity-centric access, least-privilege enforcement, continuous verification, and segmentation.\nDevelop and maintain architecture artifacts, including:Reference architectures and solution patterns\nHigh-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs)\nArchitecture Decision Records (ADRs)\n\nServe as the design authority for secure access and connectivity initiatives.\nGovernance, Risk & Control Alignment\nTranslate enterprise security, regulatory, and risk requirements into enforceable architectural guardrails for ZTNA/SSE platforms.\nEnsure access architectures support:Policy consistency and traceability\nException management and approvals\nPeriodic access reviews and recertification\nAudit and regulatory evidence requirements\n\nParticipate in architecture review boards, security design reviews, and governance forums as the ZTNA/SSE subject-matter expert.\nHands-On Technical Leadership\nLead and actively participate in:Platform design and configuration\nProof-of-concepts and pilot implementations\nMigration initiatives (including VPN modernization)\n\nArchitect and guide implementation of SSE capabilities, including:Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA)\nSecure Web Gateway (SWG)\nCloud Access Security Broker (CASB)\nFirewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS), where applicable\nIntegration with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) services\n\nDesign secure access models for:Workforce access to internal and cloud-hosted applications\nThird-party and vendor access\nPrivileged and high-risk access scenarios\n\nMulti-Vendor Platform Architecture\nDesign and maintain solutions across a multi-vendor ZTNA/SSE ecosystem, including:Zscaler\nCisco security and secure access platforms\nAkamai enterprise access and edge security services\n\nPerform comparative technical evaluations and develop vendor-neutral architectural decision frameworks.\nLead vendor engagements, technical deep dives, and roadmap assessments.\nOperational Readiness & Continuous Improvement\nEnsure operational integration with:SIEM/SOAR platforms\nLogging, telemetry, and monitoring systems\nIncident detection and response workflows\n\nDefine and track access-related KPIs and metrics, including:Reduction in legacy VPN reliance\nApplication onboarding progress to ZTNA\nPolicy exception volumes\nAccess anomaly detection and response effectiveness\n\nDrive continuous optimization of security posture, performance, and user experience.\n**NOTE: The Primary Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above. **\nQualifications:\nBachelors’ Degree and/or equivalent experience\n8+ years of experience in cybersecurity architecture, network security, or security engineering roles.\nTalents Needed for Success:\nDemonstrated experience designing and implementing Zero Trust architectures in large enterprise environments.\nStrong expertise in:Identity-based access controls (SSO, MFA, conditional access)\nSecure network and application connectivity concepts\nHybrid and cloud-based access architectures\n\nExperience integrating ZTNA/SSE platforms with:Identity providers (e.g., Entra ID, Okta, Ping)\nSIEM/SOAR solutions\nEndpoint security and posture signals\n\nAbility to operate effectively across strategy, governance, and hands-on execution.\nPreferred / Recommended Qualifications\nArchitecture and/or implementation experience with multiple of the following platforms:Zscaler\nCisco security and networking platforms\nAkamai enterprise security and access solutions\n\nFamiliarity with:Software-defined perimeter and segmentation strategies\nTLS inspection, certificate management, and privacy considerations\nSaaS governance and shadow IT risk controls\n\nProfessional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, or relevant vendor certifications preferred.\nKey Competencies\nEnterprise security architecture and design\nZero Trust and identity-centric access models\nGovernance and control alignment\nVendor and stakeholder management\nTechnical depth with strong documentation discipline\nClear communication across technical and non-technical audiences\nWorking Relationships\nCollaborates closely with Network Engineering, Identity & Access Management, Cloud Platforms, Endpoint Security, SOC, GRC, and Application teams.\nProvides architectural leadership and guidance across technology and risk organizations.\nThe salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
