In this role, the Risk Manager challenges management's assessment of internal control effectiveness by ensuring management's adherence to Control testing framework, Issue management framework (including self-identified issues), and Identified issues resulting from audits or regulatory exams, and partners with management on risk response strategies (mitigate, control, accept, remediate, etc.) to ensure the strategies sufficiently address identified risks, whether internal or external.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nAI-Enabled Risk Insight & Transformation\nTechnology-aware and AI focused, design and prototype AI agents, enabling effective challenge of AI-driven business processes, model governance, data controls, and emerging technology risks while supporting innovation and regulatory compliance.\nEnable the shift from reactive to predictive risk management, enabling early identification of emerging risks and control weaknesses \nDrive the use of data, dashboards, and digital tools to enhance transparency, decision-making, and risk reporting \nIncident Management & Root Cause Insight\nPerform independent review and challenge of risk incidents, ensuring robust root cause analysis that identifies systemic drivers and not just symptoms \nPartner with business teams to translate incident learnings into effective control design and enhancement, strengthening the overall control environment \nLeverage data, trend analysis, and scenario insights to identify recurring themes and proactively prevent future incidents \nEnsure lessons learned are embedded into risk assessments, control frameworks, and business processes to drive continuous improvement Issue & Action Lifecycle Management \nMonitor the end-to-end lifecycle of issues and action plans, ensuring data-driven validation of remediation effectiveness and sustainability \nLeverage trend analysis and root cause insights to identify systemic issues and improve self-identification capabilities \nTrack issue performance metrics through automated reporting and dashboards, escalating risks in a timely manner \nEnterprise Risk, Control Design & Product Enablement\nProvide independent challenge over control testing programs, promoting more efficient, data-driven, and automated testing approaches \nEvaluate control effectiveness using quantitative insights, trend data, and scenario-based analysis \nActive involvement in the development of new products and services, ensuring risk considerations are embedded from inception \nAssist capability in control design, with a focus on building robust, scalable, and effective controls aligned to business objectives and regulatory expectations\nEnsure governance, risk, and control (GRC) data is accurate, current, and optimized for analytics and AI use cases \nAligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to mitigate, monitor, and escalate risks appropriately, including the timely resolution of incidents. \nProcess, Risk and Controls\nPerform quality review of Process, Risk, and Control data to ensure GRC foundational elements are periodically refreshed to reflect current procedures for oversight and consistency \nConduct Control Assessments inclusive of trend analysis to drive consistent risk management practices across Solutions Businesses\nRisk Culture & Conduct\nPromote a strong, forward-looking risk culture grounded in data-driven decision-making and responsible AI use \nEncourage proactive risk identification, continuous improvement, and ethical application of emerging technologies \nIdentify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and enhance efficiency through automation and intelligent solutions\nQualifications:\nMinimum of 4 years of related experience\nBachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience\nTalents Needed for Success:\nAI & Digital Mindset (Key Differentiator)\nFamiliar with Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), including risk identification, inherent and residual risk assessment, control design evaluation, and challenge of risk ratings\nInclination toward AI-driven risk insights, automation, and data-led decision-making\nAbility to leverage data for trend analysis, predictive risk identification, and reporting optimization\nPrior experience in Risk Management & Incident Management\nExperience with stakeholder management and influencing senior leadership\nKnowledge of issue lifecycle management, audits, and control frameworks\nBe a change ambassador and drive forward improvements \nProactive and laser focused on cultivating a risk mentality \nExecution and delivery focused in a fast-paced environment \nFinancial services business acumen, with the ability to understand supported business areas, critical services, and client impacts, and to align risk assessments to business\nThe salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
