May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Application Support Engineering role specializes in maintaining and providing technical support for all applications that are beyond the development stage and are running in the daily operations of the firm. Works closely with development teams, infrastructure partners, and internal / external clients to escalate and resolve technical support incidents.\nYour Primary Responsibilities\nAct as a Lead Application Support Engineer with SRE responsibilities, partnering with Application Development, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to improve system reliability, resilience, and observability.\nLead the resolution of critical production incidents, providing clear impact analysis, root cause identification, and preventative actions.\nDrive incident, problem, and major incident management, maintaining ownership through resolution and post-incident review.\nProactively identify reliability risks and implement improvements to prevent recurrence and reduce operational toil.\nReview and maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, and operational documentation to ensure production readiness and consistency.\nExecute change, release, and deployment activities, including production code releases and vendor application upgrades.\nPerform and support Disaster Recovery activities, including testing, execution, and audit/BCM evidence collection.\nIdentify and implement automation and alert rationalization opportunities to improve operational efficiency and service stability.\nEmbed reliability, risk, and control considerations into day-to-day operations, escalating issues appropriately.\nQualifications\nMinimum of 6 years of related experience\nBachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience\nTalents Needed for Success\nStrong understanding of application support and SRE principles, including reliability engineering, observability, and incident prevention.\nExperience working in Linux and Windows environments, including process inspection, log analysis, and extensive troubleshooting.\nFamiliarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk and Grafana, and the ability to interpret system behavior and alerts.\nWorking knowledge of SQL and ability to execute queries for analysis and troubleshooting.\nExperience with ITSM and operational tooling (e.g., ServiceNow) for incident, problem, and change management.\nFamiliarity with job scheduling, containerized platforms, and modern application environments (e.g., Autosys, OpenShift).\nUnderstanding of security fundamentals, including certificate and password management.\nExposure to capital markets and financial industry is required.\nExposure to messaging, networking, or mainframe concepts is a plus.\nExperience in handling issues related AWS and associated services .\nExposure to artificial inelegance concepts and their usage in production support\nDemonstrates clear written and verbal communication, ownership, and leadership in fast-paced production environments.\nComfortable operating with urgency and collaborating with global, distributed teams.\nProactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence\nThe salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
