The team delivers high-quality information through activities that include development of essential, building infrastructure capabilities to meet client needs and implementing data standards and governance.\nWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mainframe Engineer to support, maintain, and optimize our enterprise mainframe systems. This role is critical to maintaining the performance, security, and reliability of our mainframe infrastructure, which underpins essential operations such as transaction processing. The primary focus is centered on reducing risk and improving the efficiency, performance, stability, security, and quality of all systems and platforms. The Platform Hosting & Engineering role specializes in the development, implementation, and support of all distributed, mainframe, and network hosting services across the firm. Responsible for the installation, configuration, programming, and support of operating systems, complex networks, and distributed environments, deploying solutions to increase overall system reliability across the firm.\nYour Primary Responsibilities:\nMaintain and optimize IBM z/OS mainframe environments supporting core applications. \nMaintain and support IBM mainframe systems including CICS, MQ, WAS, JES2, Storage devices, coupling facilities, and related subsystems. \nDevelop, test, and deploy JCL scripts, REXX programs, and OTS ISV products. \nMonitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware/software issues. \nProvide immediate support for production issues related to areas of expertise.\nCollaborate with application developers, DBAs, and Engineering Teams and Operations teams to ensure seamless implementation and a great client experience. \nPerform system upgrades, patching, and performance monitoring. \nAuthor system documentation and supporting documents to ensure transparency of design to minimize future maintenance costs.\nEnsure compliance with security policies, governance and audit requirements established by DTCC. \nAutomate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency using tools like REXX, Ansible, or other scripting languages. \nParticipate in disaster recovery planning and testing. \nOn-call rotation for critical system support. \nAlign risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalate appropriately.\nQualifications:\nExperience in mainframe systems engineering, system programming, or operations\nProficiency in z/OS and BCP components \nKnowledge of JCL, RACF, MQ, DB2, CICS, IODF panels, mainframe networking, HMC panels\nKnowledge in mainframe performance monitoring \nExperience with mainframe monitoring tools (e.g., MainView or equivalent)\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills\nExcellent communication and documentation abilities\nPreferred qualifications, not required:\nAn analytical and curious mindset \nPattern Recognition \nHigh problem determination drive \nExperience in observability metrics and analysis \nBachelor's degree or equivalent experience\nActual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.
