You will also contribute to strategic modernization initiatives focused on cloud adoption, platform resiliency, and performance optimization.\nThis role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working with complex data, building reliable enterprise solutions, and partnering across Agile teams to deliver business-critical technology outcomes.\nYour Primary Responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and optimize enterprise database solutions using Oracle and PostgreSQL. \nBuild and support high-volume OLTP systems that process large transactional workloads. \nDevelop data models, complex SQL queries, PL/SQL, stored procedures, views, and database objects. \nPartner with application development teams to build integrated solutions using Java, JDBC, JMS, and related technologies. \nSupport cloud-first modernization initiatives using AWS and cloud-native engineering practices. \nImplement database change management, schema deployments, and version control using tools such as Liquibase, Git, and GitHub. \nPerform database performance tuning, query optimization, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. \nSupport data integration through APIs, SFTP, batch processing, ETL/ELT, and replication technologies. \nEnsure data quality, security, access controls, resiliency, and operational reliability. \nParticipate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, design discussions, and delivery execution using Jira. \nCollaborate with engineers, architects, product owners, and business partners to deliver scalable technical solutions. \nMentor junior team members and promote engineering best practices, documentation standards, and technical excellence.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. \n8+ years of experience in software engineering, database development, or related technical roles. \nExperience supporting enterprise-scale applications in high-volume, transactional environments.\nTalent Needed for Success\nStrong experience with Oracle database development, preferably Oracle 19c or higher. \nHands-on experience with PostgreSQL in production environments. \nAdvanced SQL and PL/SQL development expertise. \nStrong experience with data modeling, database design, and OLTP systems. \nExperience supporting high-volume, high-performance transactional environments. \nHands-on Java development experience, including JDBC and JMS. \nExperience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting. \nExperience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native data platforms. \nStrong expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting. \nExperience with database change management and deployment tools such as Liquibase. \nFamiliarity with Git, GitHub, Jira, and Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies. \nDemonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges in large-scale, mission-critical environments. \nStrong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills. \nAbility to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nExperience with database change management and deployment tools such as Liquibase. \nFamiliarity with Git, GitHub, Jira, and Agile/Scrum delivery practices. \nStrong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills. \nDemonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems in large-scale, high-volume transactional environments.\nAbility to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting large-scale modernization, cloud transformation, or application migration initiatives. \nFinancial services, capital markets, post-trade processing, or settlement experience. \nExperience with Snowflake. \nExperience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. \nExperience with Jenkins or CI/CD pipelines. \nKnowledge of Oracle GoldenGate or other data replication technologies. \nExperience with Python, Perl, or other scripting languages. \nFamiliarity with Oracle RAC, Toad, or Erwin Data Modeler.\nThe salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
