To support this next phase, we are looking for a Field Service Specialistwho wants to work hands-on with innovative industrial technology and help shape the future of metals production.\nThe Field Service Specialistis part of DTE’s Service, Production and Delivery team and is based in the United States. You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting DTE solutionsat customer sites across the country, with approximately 75%travelto support customer operations and deployments.\nYou will work closely with customers during installation, start-up and service visits, configuring equipment to meet operational requirements, training operators, providing remote and on-site technical support, and serving as a key point of contact throughout installation and maintenance activities.\nWe are looking for someone who enjoys helping customers, understands heavy manufacturing environments, likes solving problems, and demonstrates strong judgment around quality, reliability, and safety. You should be comfortable working independently and taking ownership when technical problems need to be solved in the field.\nOur equipment operates in demanding industrial environments - heat, noise, dust and heavy machinery- and this is a hands-on role. You need to be comfortable working in that environment when required.\nDTE currently supports customers across the United States,Pittsburgh PA, Chicago IL, Dallas-Fort Worth TX, Cleveland OH, Indianapolis IN, Knoxville TN, Detroit MI, Buffalo NY.\nThe successful candidate must live within easy driving distance of a major airportand be willing and able to travel approximately 50% within the United States, with occasional travel to DTE headquarters in Iceland for training and product familiarization. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States and hold a valid driver’s license and passport.\nKey Responsibilities\nReceive, unpack, install, and commission metal production analytical devices at customer sites.\nEnsure installations and service work meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and schedule adherence.\nImplement DTE solutionsand train customer operators to use them.\nService, maintain, and repair installed solutions to ensure reliable operation and maximize value for DTE customers, including remote technical support.\nConfirm customer site readiness ahead of installation - power, utilities, access, lifting, and safety approvals - and flag gaps early.\nParticipate in the on-call rota for remote and on-site support, responding within agreed service commitments.\nProvide feedback to Product and Engineering to drive continuous improvement.\nQualifications, Knowledge & Experience\nB.Sc. in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.\n3+ years of experience in assembly, field service, or technical support roles involving electronic or industrial equipment.\nFamiliarity with troubleshooting methodologies for automated control systems and logic.\nStrong analytical skills and a practical problem-solving mindset.\nAbility to work hands-on with prototypes, testing, troubleshooting, and product improvement.\nStrong focus on safety, reliability, and quality.\nAble to meet customer site access requirements, which in heavy industry commonly include safety training, medical or drug screening, and background checks.\nComfortable working in hot, noisy casthouse environments, wearing personal protective equipment and handling equipment components.\nExperience in metals, foundry, or other heavy industrial environmentsis a plus.\nElectrical training, certification, or licensure is a plus.\nExcellent English communication skills; other languages are a plus.\nWhy DTE\nWe are past proving that the technology works.DTE systems are operating in production environments, and we are now scaling from individual installations to plant-wide deployments.
