You will work closely with Product Managers, Architects, Engineers, QA, and Finance domain experts to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with experience building distributed, cloud-based enterprise applications and an understanding of financial systems and business processes.\nWhat You Will Be Responsible For\nDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain highly scalable software services supporting Workday Finance capabilities\nOwn complex technical problems from requirements and architecture through implementation, production deployment, and ongoing support\nDesign and implement reliable APIs, backend services, data models, and distributed systems\nDevelop solutions supporting financial transactions, accounting, billing, revenue, reporting, and related Finance workflows\nEnsure financial data is accurate, consistent, secure, traceable, and auditable\nDesign systems capable of handling high transaction volumes while meeting performance, availability, and reliability requirements\nBuild resilient services with appropriate handling of retries, failures, duplicate transactions, and data reconciliation\nParticipate in architecture and design reviews and influence technical direction\nPartner with Product Management and Finance subject-matter experts to translate business requirements into effective technical designs\nTroubleshoot complex production issues and continuously improve system reliability, performance, and observability\nDevelop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing\nContribute to CI/CD, DevOps, monitoring, logging, and operational excellence\nIdentify opportunities to simplify architecture, improve engineering processes, and reduce technical debt\nMentor other engineers and provide technical leadership within the team\nChampion engineering best practices through code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives\nWhat You Will Bring to the Position\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience\n7+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of complex systems\nStrong programming experience in one or more modern languages such as Java, Python, C++, Go, or similar\nStrong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles\nExperience designing and developing distributed systems and scalable backend services\nStrong experience with RESTful APIs, service-oriented or microservice architectures, and asynchronous/event-driven systems\nStrong SQL and relational database experience\nExperience with cloud technologies and modern software development practices\nExperience with automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and production support\nDemonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop practical, scalable solutions\nStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills\nWhat Will Make You Stand Out\nExperience developing ERP, Finance, accounting, billing, revenue, or financial management software\nUnderstanding of financial concepts including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, revenue recognition, accounting periods, and financial reporting\nExperience with high-volume transaction-processing systems\nExperience with event-driven architectures and distributed messaging systems\nExperience with Kubernetes, Docker, or comparable container technologies\nExperience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or other cloud platforms\nExperience designing multi-tenant SaaS applications\nFamiliarity with financial data reconciliation, auditability, and data-integrity requirements\nExperience working within an enterprise SaaS environment\nDemonstrated technical leadership and mentoring experience\nWhat You Can Expect from DTN\nCompetitive Salary\nUnlimited PTO\nFlexible working hours\nRemote work model (position dependent)\nCompetitive Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Plans\n6% 401K matching\nUnlimited access to 13k+ courses via learning platform to support employee career advancement\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\nCompensation\nThe targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $109,500 and $145,500. DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
