This role plays a critical part in advancing DTN’s modern batch and real-time streaming data architecture while enabling customers and internal stakeholders to leverage trusted, scalable, and secure data solutions.\nThe ideal candidate brings expert experience in data engineering, cloud technologies, streaming data, and software development, along with a passion for building high-quality data pipelines, improving processes, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.\nWhat You Will Be Responsible For\nDeliver trusted data sets and services from complex data sources and environments to support DTN customers and internal stakeholders\n\nSupport the development and delivery of modern data and analytics architecture through batch and streaming data integration, acquisition, and management solutions\n\nDesign, build, and maintain batch and real-time streaming data pipelines and ingestion processes that ensure data quality, reliability, and scalability\n\nArchitect and manage high-throughput event streaming solutions utilizing Apache Kafka and Amazon Kinesis\n\nSupport customer and partner data infrastructure needs by troubleshooting technical issues and optimizing data environments\n\nContribute to the continuous improvement of data management standards, practices, and architectural patterns\n\nDocument data engineering processes, standards, and best practices to promote adoption across teams\n\nEnsure data governance, security, and compliance requirements are incorporated into solution delivery\n\nIdentify opportunities to automate processes, reduce complexity, and improve operational efficiency through innovative data solutions\n\nDevelop reference architectures, standards, and documentation to support consistent approaches to data acquisition, transformation, storage, and analytics consumption\n\nWhat You Will Bring to the Position\n7+ years of data engineering experience with batch and streaming pipelines, data ingestion, ETL/ELT processes, or 2+ years of software engineering experience\n\nProven experience designing and implementing streaming data architectures, message brokering, and real-time event processing using Apache Kafka and AWS Kinesis\n\n4+ years of cloud experience, preferably across multiple cloud platforms\n\nStrong programming skills in Python or other modern development languages such as Java or Go\n\nExperience with ETL processes, SQL development, and data transformation workflows\n\nExperience working with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL\n\nExperience with AWS cloud services and cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake or AWS-native solutions\n\nAbility to design solutions that support data transformation, governance, workload management, and complex data structures\n\nExperience with cloud architectures, highly available systems, and scalable solutions\n\nFamiliarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD practices\n\nExperience with Docker and Kubernetes environments\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience\n\nWhat Will Make You Stand Out\nExperience with stream processing frameworks such as Apache Flink or Spark Streaming\n\nExperience with front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue\n\nExperience developing RESTful APIs using Node.js or Python\n\nExperience consuming REST and GraphQL APIs\n\nStrong understanding of source control and versioning practices using Git\n\nExperience supporting enterprise data and analytics platforms in cloud-native environments\n\nWhat You Can Expect from DTN\nCompetitive Salary\nUnlimited PTO\nFlexible working hours\nRemote work model (position dependent)\nCompetitive Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Plans\n6% 401K matching\nUnlimited access to 13k+ courses via learning platform to support employee career advancement\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\nCompensation\nThe targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $109,400 and $145,800. DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
