Whatever your priorities - work / life balance, career progression, sustainability, volunteering - you’ll find like-minded people driving change at Howden.\nThe Role\nIn this role, you will work closely with clients, insurers and internal teams to deliver exceptional service, manage renewal and new business activity, prepare high-quality market documentation, and identify opportunities to develop business and enhance our offering. The successful candidate will be an organised and collaborative individual with strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.\nWhilst insurance experience would be beneficial, it is not essential. We are also keen to hear from candidates with construction industry experience who are looking to develop a career in insurance, with full training and support provided to build the technical knowledge required for the role.\nWhat you’ll do\nProactively manage and respond to day-to-day client enquiries, escalating where appropriate.\n\nFinalise renewal questionnaires and underwriting submissions.\n\nDevelop and maintain strong relationships with clients and market contacts.\n\nCreate and implement a structured and organised market approach strategy.\n\nCoordinate and manage relationships with other service providers across Howden.\n\nAttend and contribute to UKC team meetings.\n\nComplete all required risk reduction modules and mandated CPD hours.\n\nAchieve annual Workday goals and objectives.\n\nMaintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is completed to a high standard and peer reviewed.\n\nDevelop a detailed knowledge of UKC insurance products and the UKC value proposition.\n\nBuild a strong understanding of the UKC USP and how it differentiates the business in the market.\n\nAttend industry events, seminars, training sessions, and Howden events, sharing key learnings with the team.\n\nComplete relevant industry qualifications and maintain professional development.\n\nManage Account Handlers to ensure documentation is prepared and delivered in a timely manner.\n\nFinalise MRC documents, endorsements, and policy amendments.\n\nComplete Renewal Strategy reports, Renewal Quote reports, and compliance documentation.\n\nReview and approve insurer-issued documentation prior to issuance.\n\nExecute policy amendments and endorsements accurately and efficiently.\n\nOversee Account Handlers and delegate workloads as required.\n\nMonitor workflow progress to ensure timely processing and delivery of client documentation.\n\nEnsure client documentation is issued accurately and within agreed timeframes.\n\nWho we’re looking for\nStrong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to oversee workflows, delegate responsibilities effectively, and ensure high standards of client service are consistently delivered.\n\nExcellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively with clients, insurers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.\n\nA proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership of tasks from inception through to completion.\n\nStrong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.\n\nPrevious insurance experience is welcomed but is not essential. We are equally interested in individuals with relevant construction industry experience, such as those from project management, engineering, surveying, consultancy, or contractor backgrounds.\n\nAn interest in developing a career within insurance, with a willingness to learn the technical aspects of the industry.
