Whatever your priorities - work / life balance, career progression, sustainability, volunteering - you’ll find like-minded people driving change at Howden.\nThe Role\nAs a Construction Claims handler you will act as the key liaison between the client and the insurer, you will ensure that claims are coordinated in line with the encouraged standards, regulatory requirements and that an excellent service level is maintained.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nExperienced applicants will be able to demonstrate the following areas of knowledge/expertise (Less experienced applicants will be able to demonstrate these areas following a period of training):\nGood understanding general principles of insurance.\nUnderstanding of company objectives and how own role contributes to these.\nGood knowledge relating to claims-handling process.\nUnderstanding of broking and underwriting process.\nKnowledge of the market within which the company operates including an awareness of competitors, specific territory knowledge, cultural awareness\nAwareness of the regulatory environment and requirements.\nSpecific systems’ knowledge relevant to claims processing.\nWho we’re looking for\nTeam player.\nGood level of numeracy and literacy.\nGood level of communication and interpersonal skills including, written, verbal and face to face\nHighly organised, with good planning skills.\nAble to work to flexibly to achieve tight deadlines/targets\nAble to build balanced relationships\nAble to be proactive and work on own initiative\nResilient and calm under pressure.\nCommercial acumen.\nGood decision-making skills/analytical.\nAble to react to change positively and efficiently.\nEducated to A level standard - Grade A-C (or equivalent)\nProgression towards gaining professional qualifications is desired but not essential\nWhat do we offer in return?\nA career that you define.
