Whatever your priorities - work/life balance, career progression, sustainability, volunteering - you’ll find like-minded people driving change at Howden.\nWhat is the role?\nThe Finance Operations Manager is responsible for delivering efficient, controlled and scalable transactional finance services across Accounts Payable, Employee Expenses and Corporate Cards.\nThe role leads operational teams and outsourced service providers, ensuring supplier payments, expense claims and reconciliations are completed accurately, on time and in line with company policy.\nThe successful candidate will drive automation, process improvement and service excellence across complex Finance Operations processes spanning multiple entities and geographies.\nWhat will you be doing?\nKey Responsibilities\nOperational Leadership\nManage end-to-end Accounts Payable operations.\nOversee employee expense and corporate card programmes.\nEnsure invoices, expenses and supplier payments are processed within agreed SLAs.\nMonitor operational performance against KPIs.\nTeam Management\nLead, develop and coach Finance Operations team members.\nEngage with offshore teams for systems & matrix management\nBuild capability through training, performance management and continuous improvement.\nControls & Compliance\nMaintain robust financial controls and segregation of duties.\nEnsure compliance with company policy, audit requirements and regulatory obligations.\nSupport internal and external audits by providing required documentation and insights\nSupplier & Stakeholder Management\nAct as escalation point for supplier and stakeholder queries.\nDevelop strong relationships with Procurement, Treasury, Finance and business leaders.\nDrive supplier service improvements.\nProcess Improvement\nLead automation initiatives including AP workflow and invoice processing technologies.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce manual activity.\nReporting & Analytics\nProduce operational KPI reporting.\nMonitor processing volumes, cycle times, compliance metrics and ageing.\nUse data to identify improvement opportunities and capacity requirements.\nWhat are we looking for?\nExperience & Qualifications:\nEssential\n5+ years' experience in Finance Operations, Accounts Payable or Shared Services.\nExperience leading finance operations teams.\nStrong understanding of AP controls and governance.\nExperience managing high-volume transactional environments.\nAdvanced Excel skills.\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy\nExperience using ERP systems and finance technology platforms.\nDesirable\nAAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.\nExperience of offshore or shared services operating models.\nExperience with Unit4, Kanbina, Emburse, Concur, Coupa, SAP, Oracle or similar platforms.\nExperience leading transformation or automation programmes.\nWhat do we offer in return?\nA career that you define.\nOur business succeeds by allowing our people to make a mark in the areas they care about most: personal development, volunteering, and fundraising for charity, or creating new insurance products that address society’s greatest challenges.\nAnd we know that separate home and work lives don't really exist.
