Whatever your priorities - work / life balance, career progression, sustainability, volunteering - you’ll find like-minded people driving change at Howden.\nThe Role\nThe Team Leader for the Specialty Processing Group at the global level is responsible for leading a team of Technicians aligned to specific product lines within their Operating Entity.\nThe role involves working closely with the Head of Global Specialty Processing to supervise administration and support processes related to clients’ insurance needs, with responsibilities they manage directly.\nThis position ensures targets are met, business development is achieved, and a high standard of service is delivered in accordance with Group policies.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nDeveloping and implementing operating plans for your team, including setting priorities.\nDeveloping team projects and contributing to other organisational initiatives.\nSupervising team output to ensure compliance with agreed service and quality standards.\nAssisting with the creation and processing of broking, client, and technical documents (e.g., slips, quotes, indications).\nPerforming technical duties such as data entry, credit control, and chasing subjectivities.\nActing as a partner concern point for team-related issues and developing strong internal and external relationships.\nManaging team performance, setting objectives, and supporting professional development.\nEnsuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and standard processes.\nWho We’re Looking For\nPrevious experience in leading or supervising teams, ideally within a similar role.\nStrong understanding of Lloyd’s and the London market, as well as FCA regulations.\nProficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nExcellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with capacity to support and guide less expert staff.\nHighly organized with strong prioritisation and problem-solving abilities.\nAttention to detail and the ability to produce accurate documentation.\nA team player with supervisory skills, capable of motivating and developing others.\nProactive, self-motivated, and resilient under pressure.\nQualifications\nGCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths are essential.\nA-Level Grades A-C (or equivalent) preferred.\nProgression towards professional qualifications is desired but not crucial.\nWhat do we offer in return?\nA career that you define.
