The Group operates in 57 countries, employs over 24,000 people and manages premiums totalling US$50bn on behalf of its clients.\nAn opportunity to work within KGM's large loss motor team, handling high value RTA claims.\nResponsibilities:\nManaging a caseload of complex personal injury claims in accordance with claims handling procedures and service levels.\nTo assess indemnity, liability and quantum on claims, ensuring that each claim is investigated thoroughly with due regard given to the circumstances of an individual case.\nControlling claim cost by achieving most economical settlement, through good use of liability and quantum arguments and effective negotiation.\nMaintaining good file discipline and accurate reserves, together with an effective diary system which ensures that cases are reviewed on a regular basis and handled in a timely manner aligned to SLAs &/or any Court timetable.\nAttendance at trials and conferences with Counsel where appropriate.\nAdherence to and engagement with Reinsurers and all associated Large Loss procedures.\nEnsuring compliance with all regulatory requirements including Treating Customers Fairly.\nPro-actively managing personal training and development requirements.\nTo build strong working relationships with suppliers.\nTo maintain a high degree of technical knowledge and to keep abreast of market and legal updates.\nSkills and Responsibilities:\nStrong and current working knowledge of personal injury claims with a handling experience in serious injury, traumatic brain injury, serious spinal injuries and amputation.\nStrong technical knowledge and application of Discount Rate, extensive care claims and any other heads of claim applying to serious/catastrophic injury claims.\nGood knowledge of medical disciplines required in investigating personal injury claims at all levels of severity.\nSound knowledge of company products and policy wordings.\nSolid understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and the Personal Injury Portal process.\nKnowledge of current, relevant Case Law.\nGood market knowledge and commercial awareness\nAble to demonstrate an understanding and application of claims negotiation, liability decision making and cost potential.\nAn excellent communicator, capable of influencing and asserting opinion at all levels.\nExcellent telephone, written, verbal communication and formal presentation skills.\nExemplary planning and organisational skills.\nA high degree of drive and commitment and the ability to demonstrate a highly professional work ethic.\nAbility to manage and prioritise own workloads.\nWillingness to develop self and new skills.\nAbility to work with flexibility in a proactive claims environment.\nBehaviours:\nFast - we act with pace and accountability: make decisions and follow through, respond promptly and clearly to colleagues, customers and third parties, and use meetings well and come prepared.\nFriendly - we build positive, respectful and constructive relationships with colleagues, customers and external partners: be approachable and inclusive, treat everyone fairly and with empathy, challenge ideas respectfully, and stay professional in how we speak, act and treat each other.\nFlexible - we adapt and work together with colleagues and external partners to find practical solutions, respond to changing business and customer needs, help across team boundaries and focus on outcomes.\nFuture Ready - we build the standards, skills and mindset needed for future success: represent Personal Lines positively, both internally and externally, keep learning and improving, and hold standards, even when it is easier not to. \nWhat do we offer in return?\nA career that you define.\nOf course, we offer a competitive range of rewards and benefits to support you, but we know you expect all that. \nWhat you might not expect is a job where everyone has a voice, where volunteering in the community is part of the day job, and where everyone is encouraged to play a part towards our sustainability goals.
