And finding the most talented and entrepreneurial people to join the Group has been and will continue to be key.\nDUAL North America, Inc. is seeking a\nVP Underwriting CyberClassification: Exempt/Full-time\nReports to: EVP Underwriting, Cyber\nTravel: Up to 50% or more\nSalary: $200,000.00-$235,000.00 + Discretionary Annual Bonus\nLocation: New York, NY, Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA, Atlanta, GA, San Diego, CA/Hybrid\nRole overview\nDUAL North America is seeking a VP Underwriter for the Cyber division. \nAt DUAL, VP Underwriters play a critical leadership role in defining the underwriting strategy and fostering new broker relationships. In this role, you will act as the subject matter expert in nuanced risk evaluation, manage a team through the employee lifecycle, and own profitable portfolio growth. \nLeading a team of underwriters within the Cyber division, you will lead underwriting across crisis and reputational risk classes, drive product innovation in response to global threats, and manage key client and broker relationships at the executive level.\nRole responsibilities\nManages a small to mid-sized team and is responsible for performance evaluations, hiring and recruiting, and termination decisions\nDefine team production goals that align to division goals, and drive execution in both a hands-on fashion while also accomplishing work often through direct reports\nReview referrals from team members\nCurate a portfolio of business in accordance with Underwriting Guidelines and prescribed pricing tools within UW guidelines; may provide input to governance and defining underwriting guidelines\nOwns division level projects or initiatives outside of direct area of expertise to gain knowledge and exposure to larger organizational operations\nMay manage budget for a small team or portion of the division, including staffing and T&E costs\nWorking level knowledge of capacity and expectation to build relationships with capacity providers\nAct as Subject Matter Expert for their respective business to peers and leadership and those within their team\nDemonstrates advanced understanding of technical underwriting principles and risk underwriting characteristics which could include more nuanced risks, limits, and how to price them\nExecute on annual new and renewal business goals by achieving agreed premium income and hitting quote numbers with desired hit ratios and retentions, and ensuring the team is executing on these goals as well\nFoster and build new relationships with key producers - expectation is to gain more business and place it\nUnderwriting Authority: Has Underwriting authority as outlined in LOA\nKey requirements\nBachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, business, or a related field preferred\n8-12 years of relevant underwriting experience\nProfessional certifications such as CPCU, AU, or similar designations preferred\nIn-depth understanding of technical underwriting principles and risk assessment\nStrong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills\nProven ability to manage and build broker and client relationships\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)\nDemonstrated ability to handle complex risks with sound judgment\nHighly self-motivated with strong attention to detail\nAbility to travel up to 25% or more as required for client meetings, conferences, or industry events\nMust be able to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time, with occasional movement throughout the office to access files and equipment\nIf you do not meet all the qualifications for this role, we still encourage you to apply\nWhat we offer:\nA career that you define.
