About the Job:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Cost Controller to join the Finance team in Jumeirah Olhahali Island.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:
- Assist in monitoring and controlling food, beverage, and operational costs.
- Verify and process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Reconcile daily inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, transfers, and stock adjustments.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and investigate stock variances.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cost control reports for management.
- Ensure all purchases and inventory movements are properly recorded in the accounting system.
- Review menu recipes and standard costing to maintain accurate food and beverage costs.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing, Receiving, Stores, Kitchen, and Finance teams to ensure effective inventory control.
- Monitor wastage, spoilage, and stock usage, and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
- Support month-end closing activities, including inventory valuation and cost-related journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and filing of all cost control records.
- Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and cost management.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Cost Controller or Finance Manager.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, hospitality management, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in cost control, inventory, or finance, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of inventory management and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/POS systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
