This position packages chemical products of various kinds.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPackage chemicals in pails, drums, and totes\n\nResponsible for connecting hoses and open valves to decanting chemicals into containers as specified in related procedures\n\nCollect raw materials and lift hoses\n\nWatch gauges and meters to prevent spills or overfills\n\nSecure lids, caps, and labels on filled containers correctly\n\nPut on protective suits, gloves, and respirators\n\nClean small spills right away using proper safety kits\n\nMaintain daily logs and record plant operating data\n\nEffectively, timely, and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and customers\n\nEnsure supplies are distributed as required throughout the facility\n\nNeatly store supplies and empty containers\n\nGeneral housekeeping of the plant and surrounding areas\n\nClean and store safety equipment for re-use\n\nReport process and/or safety equipment issues to Production Supervisor\n\nComply with all safety requirements within the company\n\nComply with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and safe handling practices as required from Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and company procedures\n\nFollow WHMIS, MSDS and all other safety training requirements and procedures\n\nFollow all government and regulatory requirements when handling and transporting chemical materials\n\nPerform other duties as assigned or needed\n\nRegular and sustained attendance\n\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\n1+ Years experience working in a chemical plant\n\n2 Years experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility\n\nAbility to collaborate effectively and efficiently with colleagues\n\nEffective communication skills and time management\n\nAbility to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time\n\nPrevious experience in a chemical plant preferred\n\nExperience operating a sit-down (propane) forklift preferred\n\nEDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent\n\nOTHER INFORMATION:\nThis position works in an enclosed building that is subject to variances in temperatures, extreme heat in summer, and colder temperatures in winter. This position frequently lifts, pushes, pulls or carries up to 50 pounds of product.
