This role provides hands on leadership in collaboration with Professional Services leadership supporting services sales to enterprise insurance customers. It also provides strategic leadership for solution architecture practice including practices, processes, talent and templates. The Senior Director is accountable for driving professional services sales performance, utilizing proven sales management tooling and methodologies to maximize pipeline conversion, forecast accuracy, and revenue attainment. The position balances technical depth, people leadership, sales enablement, and cross-functional influence to ensure Duck Creek solutions and services are architected, positioned, and delivered consistently, scalable, and in alignment with business strategy, product direction, and partner ecosystems.\nLead the sales function for professional services, setting clear revenue targets and driving execution to achieve and exceed goals using established sales management tools and processes.\nThe role will define our service offerings, manage a team to sell to new and existing customers and leverage market leading tooling and processes to support these efforts. \nWork with Services leadership to articulate high value offerings that will resonate within the P&C market.\nLeverage the defined service offerings as well as other channels including customer facing team to generate and grow a healthy pipeline.\nCollaborate with sales operations to provide effective reporting to ensure a clear line of sight to achievement of services sales targets. \nProvide overall leadership and direction for solution architecture teams, including workforce planning, performance management, coaching, career development, and readiness to support sales and delivery.\nEvolve the solution architecture team to a level of world class performance in the engagement with prospects and customers as well as the delivery of high value solutions.\nEstablish and maintain solution architecture standards, reference architectures, and best practices aligned with Duck Creek products, cloud platforms, and integration patterns.\nPartner with Product Management, Engineering, Professional Services, Sales, and Alliances to ensure architectural alignment from pre-sales through delivery and lifecycle management, including services positioning and scope definition.\nCollaborate with partner organizations to define joint solution patterns and enable consistent architectural approaches across the ecosystem.\nSupport sales and account teams by providing executive-level technical and solution leadership for strategic opportunities, including services-based engagements, when required.\nRepresent solution architecture perspectives in internal leadership forums and cross-functional planning activities, including services strategy and go-to-market planning.\nEnsure solution architectures clearly articulate the value, differentiation, and outcomes of Duck Creek professional and partner-delivered services.\nGuide teams in developing repeatable solution and services patterns that support scalable selling and delivery models.\nWHAT YOU’VE DONE:\nREQUIRED:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.\n12+ years of progressive experience in P&C insurance enterprise services sales and architecture, solution design, or technical leadership roles.\n5+ years of experience leading and managing technical teams. - Demonstrated experience designing and governing large-scale, enterprise, cloud-based software solutions.\nPREFERRED:\nMaster’s degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.\nExperience within the insurance or financial services software domain.\nExperience working in a global insurance software sales organization.\nFormal architecture or cloud certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS, Azure, or equivalent).\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities & Behaviors:\nDeep understanding of selling methodologies, tooling and processes.\nDeep expertise in insurance P&C enterprise solution architecture and distributed systems design.\nStrong understanding of cloud-native architectures, SaaS platforms, and integration technologies.\nProven ability to lead, mentor, and develop senior technical professionals.\nStrategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into architectural direction.\nStrong governance mindset balanced with pragmatism and delivery focus.\nExcellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.\nAbility to influence without direct authority across functions and geographies.\nSound judgment in assessing architectural trade-offs, risks, and impacts.\nStrong collaboration skills and commitment to cross-functional partnership.\nCustomer-oriented mindset with focus on long-term solution sustainability.\nAbility to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.\nHigh level of accountability and ownership for outcomes.\nAdaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced global software environment.\nStrong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.\nDemonstrated leadership behaviors consistent with Duck Creek Technologies’ values.\nWHAT WE STAND FOR:\nOur global company celebrates & leverages the differences each employee brings to the table.
