TITLE: Senior Product Manager - Agentic AI Gateway
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Senior Product Manager, AI Gateway owns product strategy, roadmap, and execution for AI Gateway capabilities within Duck Creek’s Agentic AI Platform. This role defines how Duck Creek, customers, partners, and third-party services connect safely, consistently, and extensively across the AI ecosystem. The role translates complex AI platform, API, agent interoperability, security, governance, and customer value needs into clear product priorities, requirements, and measurable outcomes. This role exercises independent judgment within the AI Gateway domain and partners across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data Science, Security, Data, Legal, Compliance, Customer Success, Professional Services, partners, and customer stakeholders to support governed and scalable agentic AI capabilities.
- Define and maintain the product strategy and roadmap for Duck Creek’s AI Gateway capabilities, including API management, MCP gateway capabilities, model and tool connectivity, extensibility, and marketplace enablement.
- Translate AI ecosystem, integration, agent interoperability, and architecture needs into clearly defined epics, features, use cases, requirements, user stories, and measurable product outcomes.
- Partner with Engineering and Architecture to define scalable gateway patterns for agent discovery, registration, authentication, authorization, invocation, routing, lifecycle management, versioning, monitoring, and deprecation.
- Establish product requirements for integrating Duck Creek-built, partner-built, and customer-built agents using open, standardized, and governed interoperability patterns.
- Define product capabilities for safe model, agent, tool, and API access, including permissions, entitlements, tenant isolation, usage controls, secrets handling, audit logs, policy enforcement, and governance workflows.
- Partner with AI Platform, Agentic Applications, Semantic Insurance Data, Data Orchestration, Security, and Governance teams to support trusted context, responsible AI controls, and reliable execution across insurance workflows.
- Drive developer, partner, and customer experience for AI Gateway capabilities, including onboarding flows, documentation needs, certification patterns, diagnostics, testing support, and release readiness.
- Evaluate trade-offs across openness, control, innovation, customer value, technical complexity, security, compliance, and operational readiness when shaping product priorities and requirements.
- Define adoption, reliability, security, and business impact measures for AI Gateway capabilities, including latency, partner integrations, time to market, gateway performance, invocation success rates, policy violations, and customer value delivered.
- Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security, Legal, Compliance, Customer Success, Professional Services, partner, and customer stakeholders to align product decisions with platform objectives and customer needs.
- Support release planning, readiness, and communication for AI Gateway capabilities by clarifying scope, dependencies, risks, acceptance criteria, and expected outcomes.
- Maintain awareness of emerging AI platform, agent interoperability, API, model routing, governance, and developer ecosystem patterns to inform product direction and roadmap decisions.
WHAT YOU’VE DONE:
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, Business, Insurance, Product Management, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in technical product management, platform services, software engineering, AI product management, platform-as-a-service, or related roles.
- Experience owning complex platform, integration, developer, API, AI, or ecosystem product capabilities.
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders such as product teams, engineering teams, architects, security teams, customer-facing teams, partners, and business stakeholders.
- Experience translating ambiguous business and technical problems into product strategy, roadmap priorities, product requirements, release plans, and measurable outcomes.
PREFERRED
- Master’s degree or equivalent advanced experience in a relevant field.
- Experience with APIs, developer platforms, integration platforms, marketplaces, registries, partner ecosystems, identity and access management, enterprise security, AI platforms, large language models, or agentic AI capabilities.
- Experience in property and casualty insurance, general insurance, InsurTech, financial services, or another complex regulated industry.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Behaviors:
- Knowledge of technical product management practices for complex platform, API, AI, or developer ecosystem capabilities.
- Knowledge of API and integration concepts, including authentication, authorization, routing, rate limiting, throttling, provider management, and observability.
- Knowledge of AI gateway, agentic AI, model routing, tool connectivity, and AI ecosystem patterns.
- Knowledge of responsible AI, AI security, prompt injection risk, policy enforcement, auditability, and governance workflows.
- Knowledge of open and standardized interoperability patterns, including REST, OpenAPI, MCP, A2A, or similar protocols.
- Knowledge of cloud-native platforms, multi-tenant SaaS architecture, event-driven systems, data services, and enterprise security patterns.
- Knowledge of identity and access management, secrets management, tenant isolation, permissions, entitlements, and usage controls.
- Knowledge of metering concepts such as token-level accounting, chargeback, usage dimensions, and observability infrastructure.
- Knowledge of P&C insurance business processes or insurance technology environments across underwriting, claims, policy, billing, distribution, rating, reporting, or customer servicing.
- Skill in converting ambiguous technical and business needs into structured product requirements, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
- Skill in evaluating trade-offs across customer value, technical complexity, security, compliance, reliability, and operational readiness.
- Skill in analyzing adoption, reliability, performance, security, and business impact metrics to inform product decisions.
- Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security, Legal, Compliance, Customer Success, Professional Services, partners, and customers.
- Ability to explain complex AI gateway, ecosystem, integration, and security decisions in clear business terms.
- Ability to use AI-enabled tools to support product discovery, analysis, prototyping, documentation, and iterative product development.

Actual compensation for this role is determined based on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location, where permitted by law.
For reference, the expected salary range for this position is generally positioned as follows based on candidate location:
- 164,600 - 235,200: Candidates living in the Boston, New York City-Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco/Bay Area, Seattle, or Washington, DC metropolitan areas
- 156,900 - 224,100: Candidates living in Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Minneapolis, or Philadelphia metropolitan areas, or in Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Rhode Island, or Vermont
- 149,100 - 213,000: Candidates living in Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Oregon, or Wisconsin
- 132,000 - 188,600: For all other U.S. locations
This position is also eligible for annual bonus compensation, subject to plan terms and individual eligibility.
Final compensation will be determined based on the factors outlined above and in accordance with applicable law.
