Backed by top-tier investors (Benchmark, Blossom, Index Ventures, and Kima Ventures) and born out of Y Combinator (S18), we’re simplifying complex systems to build the future of travel.\nAbout the role\nThis role crosses the boundary between Solution Engineering and Customer Success Engineering.\nYou'll partner with customers from the earliest discovery conversations through implementation and beyond, becoming their long-term technical counterpart as they build and grow on Duffel.\nWorking closely with Enterprise Account Executives, you'll lead technical discovery, shape solution architecture, run workshops and guide customers through complex technical decisions. Once a partnership is in place, you'll continue supporting their technical strategy as they launch new products, expand into new markets and scale their integrations.\nYou'll collaborate daily with Product, Engineering, Implementation, Customer Success and Technical Support, ensuring the solutions we design are practical, scalable and create long-term value for our partners.\nIf you enjoy solving complex technical problems, building trusted customer relationships and influencing both product direction and commercial success, we'd love to hear from you.\nWhat you'll be doing\nPartner with Enterprise Account Executives throughout the sales process, leading technical discovery and solution design.\n\nUnderstand customer goals, technical environments and product requirements to design scalable solutions using Duffel's APIs.\n\nLead architecture discussions, technical workshops, product demonstrations and proof-of-concepts.\n\nBecome a trusted advisor to engineering teams, product leaders and technical decision makers.\n\nRemain accountable for the integrity of the technical solution throughout implementation. Partner with an Implementation Manager, who owns the delivery programme, while you own the architecture and important solution decisions.\n\nAdvise customers on best practices around integrations, scalability, reliability and user experience.\n\nTranslate partner needs into clear problem statements and evidence for Product and Engineering, distinguishing one-off requests from recurring needs that should influence Duffel’s product strategy.\n\nWork alongside Implementation Managers, Partner Managers and Technical Support to deliver a seamless customer experience.\n\nCreate reusable technical documentation, reference architectures and best practices that help us scale the Partner Engineering function.\n\nWe're looking for someone who\nHas significant experience leading technical work with large or complex enterprise customers in roles such as Solutions Engineer, Partner Engineer, Customer Success Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Sales Engineer.\n\nEnjoys working directly with customers to understand complex technical challenges and design thoughtful solutions.\n\nHas a strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, integrations and modern software architecture.\n\nIs capable of investigating complex integration behaviour and significant technical risks when needed, while partnering with Technical Support Engineering, which owns routine questions and incidents.\n\nCan confidently communicate with software engineers, product managers and senior technical stakeholders.\n\nBalances technical excellence with commercial awareness, understanding how technology helps customers achieve business outcomes.\n\nThrives in collaborative environments, working closely across Sales, Product, Engineering and Customer Success.\n\nEnjoys ambiguity, takes ownership and is excited to help build new ways of working as Duffel continues to grow.\n\nNice to have\nWe're more interested in your ability to solve customer problems than ticking every box, but experience in any of the following would be beneficial:\nAPI-first or developer platform businesses.\n\nEnterprise SaaS or B2B infrastructure products.\n\nFintech, payments, commerce or travel technology.\n\nBuilding integrations or technical solutions for enterprise customers.\n\nSupporting customers through complex implementation or onboarding projects.\n\nHelping establish or scale a Solutions Engineering or Partner Engineering function.\n\nWhy You’ll Love Working at Duffel\nWe believe in true ownership.
