This job is not part of standard progression. The job requires a business case justification substantiating the necessity of a Lead role in conjunction with the enterprise Professional titling guidelines.\nLead Engineering technologists provide technical expertise to solve complex problems and utilize the leadership skills necessary to oversee the training and development of the hierarchy. Incumbents engage in strategic oversight and management of work in a specific area of expertise, with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to have advanced skills and can work independently. This position will support Marshall Steam Station as the Electrical System Owner.\nResponsibilities\nServing as the site subject matter expert for electrical systems.\nMonitoring and trending system/component performance.\nDirecting onsite testing and troubleshooting activities for emergent issues.\nEvaluating preventative maintenance (PM) program performance and recommending performance-based adjustments.\nEnsuring regulatory compliance is maintained\nInterface with operations & maintenance, assisting with any other electrical/control system challenges and needs\nCoordinating cross functionally with other departments (such as Regional Engineering, Transmission, Maintenance & Operations) to ensure system concerns, schedules, budgeting, and related issues are properly addressed.\nMaintain plant risk grid for system/equipment responsibilities\nInterfacing with external vendors to ensure technical issues are properly resolved.\nEvaluates Fleet Operating Experience and industry learnings to improve Equipment Reliability.\nSupport project management by developing the scope, technical basis, installation and testing requirements for engineering design changes, which include but are not limited to AC power systems, DC power systems, Large AC motors, Transformers, Switchgear, Motor Control Centers, Voltage Regulators, Breakers, etc.\nManage any external control system vendor support as a single point of contact (SPOC)\nProficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.\nServe as station PTAC\nRequired/Basic Qualifications\nAssociate’s degree in engineering technology\n8 years related work experience\nIn lieu of associate’s degree(s) AND 8 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 10 year(s) related work experience\nWork Conditions\nOnsite Mobility Classification - Work will be performed at a company facility. On-site employees are also required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location, not greater than 50 miles one way.\nDesired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering technology\nIn addition to desired degree, 8 years related work experience\nAdditional Preferred Qualifications\nGood written and oral communication skills.\nDemonstrates skills applying leadership in the areas of technical project management, program oversight and/or governance.\nProficient in engineering theories and principles\nProficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations,\nDemonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.\nExperience in the utility industry\nAbility to apply basic principles of project management.\nAbility to use Power Plan to build and process projects\nAbility to use Maximo to write WOs to repair equipment, order parts, or order Services to come and make repairs at the site.\nSpecific Requirements\nEither 6+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 8+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 10+ years equivalent experience without a degree\nPreferred Skills\nCommunication, Control Equipment, Cybersecurity, Electrical Equipment, Electrical Power Distribution, Electrical\n#LI - CM1\n#LI - Onsite\nTravel Requirements\n5-15%Relocation Assistance Provided (as applicable)\nYesRepresented/Union Position\nNoVisa Sponsored Position\nNo. This is not a Visa Sponsored Position.
