system-wide NPCS orientation that supports safe practice, belonging, and professional confidence\nCreating and delivering engaging, learner-centered onboarding experiences that promote readiness and retention\nPartnering with colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure a consistent, high-quality orientation experience across all DUHS entities\nSupporting additional department and organization initiatives as assigned \nParticipating in system-wide instruction of Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses\nDuties and Responsibilities of this Level\nEducator\nConducts needs assessments using a variety of strategic tools\nAssists learners in the assessment of needs and identification of outcomes\nIncorporates principles of adult learning in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs\nCoordinates orientation of new staff to the organization\nDevelops/coordinates education plans to regulatory mandates for research and management of sentinel events\nResponds to identified needs of Duke Medicine to promote quality patient care and safety\nCollaborates with Duke Medicine to recommend educational strategies for the implementation clinical standards\nConsults with staff regarding individual learning needs\nResearcher\nSupports the integration of research into practice\nProvides information to document effectiveness of role as a staff development educator\nIncorporates current educational evidence into individual practice as a staff development expert\nConducts and/or contributes to nursing research\nInterprets, communicates, and incorporates research findings into program planning\nFacilitator\nFacilitates the adult learning process, creating a climate which supports learning across the health system\nIdentifies and recruits internal and external resources (nurse, doctor, other specialists) for educational activities\nCoordinates educational activities (includes continuing education credit, clinical affiliations, nurse residency, etc) across Duke Medicine\nParticipates in committees, task forces, projects for areas of coverage Level\nEducation\nBSN required\nMSN preferred.\nExperience\n1 YOE in Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing Facility as an RN is required\n3 years of nursing, clinical educator, or nursing instructor experience required.\n Master's Degree in Nursing may be substituted for 2 years of required experience.\nDegrees, Licensure, and/or Certification\nCurrent or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina or compact license from participating state is required.\nBLS provider certification required.\nBLS, ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP Instructor level certification is preferred.\nKnowledge,
