DNAS Educational Platform Development Intern

Position Overview

We are looking for an intern to support the development and improvement of DKU OJ, an online programming and assessment platform used for teaching and programming courses at Duke Kunshan University.

The intern will work on software development, platform features, testing, and technical documentation. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing an educational technology platform and working with a real-world university computing environment.

Lab Instructor II of Data Science and Computer Science

Essential Duties

• Develop and maintain features for the DKU OJ online programming and assessment platform.
• Implement, test, and debug software components and improve system reliability and usability.
• Work with existing open-source software and university IT infrastructure to integrate and improve platform functionality.
• Write and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and system documentation.
• Assist with testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the platform.
• Collaborate with instructors and teaching staff to understand requirements and improve the platform for teaching and assessment

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic programming experience in Python, JavaScript, or other programming languages.
• Familiarity with Git and basic software development workflows.
• Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and work independently.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Education

Undergraduate or graduate student at any level, available for full-time internship for a minimum of 3 months; candidates able to intern for 6 months or more are preferred.
