Dunnhumby is a customer data science company that provides analytics, personalization platforms, and retail media solutions for global brands and retailers. Headquartered in London, United Kingdom, the enterprise operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of the retail giant Tesco. By leveraging consumer purchase insights and behavioral algorithms, it helps client organizations optimize pricing strategies, loyalty programs, and targeted marketing campaigns.

dunnhumby is the global leader in Customer Data Science, partnering with the world’s most ambitious retailers and brands to put the customer at the heart of every decision. We combine deep insight, advanced technology, and close collaboration to help our clients grow, innovate, and deliver measurable value for their customers.

dunnhumbyemploys nearly 2,500 experts in offices throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas working for transformative, iconic brands such as Tesco, Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Unilever and Metro.

Job Purpose:

Work closely with the product squad to define and deliver user-centric insight and analytics products that help retailers and their supplier and CPG partners make better, faster decisions with customer data. You will build a deep understanding of how these clients work - the questions they are trying to answer and the journeys they move through - and translate that into clear product requirements that make those journeys effective and intuitive, end to end.

Alongside this, you will develop a platform mindset: thinking beyond individual features to reusable, scalable data and insight capabilities - including those delivered through APIs and integrations into client systems - that serve users well while supporting long-term scalability and reuse. The two sides of this role carry equal weight: the platform exists to enable the client's insight journey, not the other way around.

Key Accountabilities

Contribute to shaping the end-to-end experience

  • Build a strong understanding of the end-to-end user journey for retailer and supplier users, from the initial business question through to the decision or action enabled by the product.
  • Contribute to product decisions by bringing together validated client needs, user behaviour, commercial context, and relevant data and platform considerations.
  • Work closely with design and research teams to help shape insight experiences, outputs, and interactions that are clear, intuitive, and reduce the effort required to reach meaningful answers.
  • Consider the broader client workflow beyond the product interface, including exports, reporting, and downstream analysis, so the product supports practical business use.

Drive your squad

  • Work closely with engineering, data science, and design counterparts to define and deliver scalable capabilities aligned to the wider product and platform strategy.
  • Define product increments that maximise reuse through APIs, shared data services, and configurable frameworks rather than point solutions.
  • Collaborate across Product domains so insight, data, and delivery work together into a coherent client experience.

Execute with Excellence

  • Own the execution roadmap for the product and its underlying data and insight capabilities, improving both client outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Write clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and - where relevant - API contracts, data mappings, and integration specifications.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for client and partner stakeholders, ensuring requirements are communicated, understood, and delivered successfully.
  • Define and manage the lifecycle of features and data integrations from discovery through implementation, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Ensure product requirements weigh both the user experience and the underlying data quality, integration, security, and privacy considerations.
  • Identify and frame product problems before they are fully specified - validating the underlying client and user need rather than only executing a defined brief.

Measure what matters

  • Measure adoption, reliability, scalability, and the operational performance of the product and its capabilities.
  • Define and monitor both client outcomes and non-functional requirements including data quality, latency, uptime, observability, security, and resilience.
  • Prioritise work that improves the client's path to an answer, alongside automation, consistency, and platform scalability.

Build your product maturity

Working with Product Leadership to develop and strengthen the following:

  • Bring others on the journey: Communicate product strategy, roadmap, and priorities across technical, commercial, and client-facing stakeholders.
  • Know our business: Understand how insight products contribute to retailer success, supplier outcomes, and long-term product strategy.
  • Comprehend the market: Build knowledge of retail, customer data, measurement, and the insight needs of retailers and their suppliers.
  • Understand your users: Develop deep understanding of retailer and supplier users, analysts, and the decisions they are trying to make.
  • Create awareness: Support go-to-market activities by enabling capabilities that accelerate client adoption.

Platform & Technical Collaboration

  • Apply platform-first thinking to define reusable, scalable data and insight capabilities.
  • Work closely with engineering and data teams to design API-first solutions and integration approaches.
  • Translate business and user requirements into clear API specifications, data models, workflows, and system behaviours.
  • Evaluate data-sharing models, integration options, and privacy and compliance requirements that shape how insight reaches clients.
  • Contribute to long-term platform architecture that lets insight and data capabilities be reused across products and clients.
  • Collaborate with engineering to deliver secure, performant, observable, and maintainable capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ product management experience, with 7+ years preferred, gained in roles with clear ownership of product strategy, discovery, delivery, and outcomes.
  • Experience owning at least one user-facing product experience end to end, with clear involvement in shaping the user journey as well as working with data, platform, or technical capabilities.
  • Experience with data, analytics, insight, or reporting products, with the ability to use data to frame problems, evaluate options, and inform product decisions.
  • Experience managing complex relationships with business and technical stakeholders, ideally including direct engagement with external clients or partners.
  • Experience working in Agile, distributed, cross-functional teams, including matrixed environments where priorities are aligned across multiple teams.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, data schemas, and system integration principles.
  • Experience translating complex technical or data requirements into clear product documentation.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and deliver large, ambiguous initiatives from discovery through to implementation and adoption.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in retail, customer data, CPG, market measurement, or insight and analytics products.
  • Experience delivering user-facing products that also involved API-first or data-platform work.
  • Experience working directly with retailer or supplier / CPG clients.
  • Exposure to data-platform, data-pipeline, or integration architectures
