This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, production performance, employee development, and continuous improvement while ensuring daily operations meet company standards and customer expectations.\nThe ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, builds accountability within teams, and actively participates in solving operational challenges.\nThis position supports manufacturing operations on the following shift:\n2nd Shift: 1:45 PM - 10:15 PM\nCandidates must be willing to work the assigned shift, overtime as needed, and support operational requirements during peak production periods.\nKey Responsibilities\nSafety & Compliance\nEnforce all safety procedures, PPE requirements, lockout/tagout practices, and housekeeping standards.\nLead daily safety meetings and weekly toolbox talks.\nIdentify, address, and report unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately.\nEnsure compliance with OSHA, EPA, ISO, and company regulations.\nInvestigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and submit detailed corrective action reports within 24 hours.\nQuality Management\nEnsure products are manufactured according to specifications, SOPs, batch tickets, operating instructions, quality testing requirements, and packaging procedures.\nPartner with Quality Assurance to address deviations, CAPAs, and customer complaints.\nDrive reduction of defects, rework, and process variability.\nVerify documentation accuracy, traceability, and required sign-offs.\nConduct routine audits and immediately address non-conformances.\nProduction Operations\nExecute assigned production schedules safely and efficiently.\nDeliver production targets on time and in full.\nAnalyze missed production goals and implement corrective actions.\nMonitor throughput, downtime, scrap, labor efficiency, and machine utilization.\nCoordinate staffing, shift coverage, and production resources.\nEscalate production bottlenecks and operational issues promptly.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nLead and supervise hourly operators and line leads.\nCross-train employees to improve workforce flexibility.\nDevelop working knowledge of all equipment and processes within assigned areas.\nTrain and certify new employees on job functions and safety requirements.\nConduct coaching sessions, performance evaluations, and corrective actions as needed.\nFoster accountability, teamwork, engagement, and positive morale across shifts.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.\nTrack key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions.\nSupport root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives.\nParticipate in continuous improvement projects that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.\nInventory & Materials Coordination\nEnsure materials are available to support production schedules.\nCoordinate with shipping, receiving, planning, and scheduling teams.\nMinimize shortages, excess inventory, and inventory discrepancies.\nSupport cycle counts and annual physical inventory activities.\nEquipment & Maintenance Coordination\nReport, prioritize, and follow up on equipment issues.\nCoordinate preventive maintenance activities with the maintenance team.\nAssist in reducing unplanned downtime and recurring equipment failures.\nReporting & Communication\nMaintain accurate production logs, shift reports, and operational records.\nCommunicate priorities and issues across Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Planning teams.\nLead effective shift handoff meetings to ensure continuity between shifts.\nRequirements\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.\n3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.\nStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and quality systems.\nExperience leading teams, coaching employees, and managing performance.\nAbility to analyze production data and drive operational improvements.\nProficient in Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems.\nStrong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.\nKnowledge of OSHA regulations and manufacturing compliance requirements.\nExperience in chemical manufacturing, coatings, or industrial production environments is a plus.\nPhysical Requirements\nThis is a hands-on leadership role requiring active engagement on the production floor. The Production Supervisor is expected to lead by example, work closely with operators and line leads, monitor production activities, troubleshoot operational issues, conduct audits, train employees, and support the team in meeting safety, quality, and production objectives.\nTo successfully perform the essential functions of this position, employees must be able to:\nLift and move materials weighing up to 55 pounds.\nStand and walk for the duration of an 8-hour shift or longer as required.\nFrequently bend, reach, twist, push, pull, and climb as necessary to support production operations.\nClimb stairs and safely access various areas of the manufacturing facility.\nWork in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing environment and tolerate varying temperatures throughout the year.\nWork around moving equipment, industrial materials, noise, and other manufacturing conditions.\nWear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, including safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, and a bump cap, as required.\nActively monitor production activities, perform audits, train employees, troubleshoot operational issues, and assist with production processes as needed.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive compensation\nComprehensive benefits package -
