# R&D Engineer – Materials and Cell

The Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on R&D Battery Engineer to support the development of next-generation lithium-ion and emerging battery technologies. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys laboratory experimentation, battery prototyping, materials characterization, and electrochemical testing, while also having a strong interest in developing simulation capabilities using COMSOL Multiphysics and other battery modeling tools. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to investigate battery materials, understand cell performance and degradation mechanisms, and build simulation models that accelerate product development and innovation. What will you do Conduct hands-on battery materials research, cell assembly, and electrochemical testing to evaluate and improve battery performance, safety, and reliability. Design and execute experiments, analyse test data, and investigate cell behaviour, degradation mechanisms, and failure modes. Develop and validate battery cell simulation models using COMSOL Multiphysics, with training provided as needed. Correlate experimental results with simulation outputs to support material select
