We are a fun-loving, mind-blowing company that makes a difference one cup at a time.\nPosition Overview:\nThe Associate Cybersecurity Engineer will support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of security controls that protect Dutch Bros systems, data, and people. The role will involve supporting security tooling such as SIEM, endpoint protection, email security, and identity and access management; assisting with vulnerability scanning and remediation tracking; monitoring and triaging security alerts and escalating potential incidents; and partnering with IT and engineering teams to apply secure configurations and remediate risks. \nJob Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in a relevant field (cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, etc.) or equivalent hands-on experience preferred. \n0-1+ years experience in a cybersecurity, IT, systems, or network role, including internships or lab/home-lab experience. \nWorking knowledge of core security concepts: the CIA triad, common attack techniques, defense in depth, and least privilege. \nExposure to security tooling such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, email security, or identity and access management platforms preferred. \nFamiliarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPN), and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is a plus. \nFamiliarity with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to reduce manual security work is a plus. \nGood communication skills; ability to explain security risks and requirements to technical and non-technical audiences. \nStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, adaptability, ability to multitask, and think critically. \nSecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, SSCP, or cloud security fundamentals are a plus or willingness to obtain. \n Location Requirement: \nThis role is located in Tempe, Arizona. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days.\nKey Result Areas (KRAs):\nSupport the deployment, configuration, and day-to-day health of security tooling, including SIEM, endpoint protection, email security, and identity and access management. \nMonitor and triage security alerts, perform initial investigation, document findings, and escalate potential incidents to senior engineers. \nAssist with vulnerability scanning, track remediation with system owners, and help verify that fixes are applied and effective. \nPartner with IT, engineering, and business teams to apply secure configurations, support access reviews, and remediate identified risks. \nSupport security awareness efforts and promote adoption of secure practices across the organization, under the guidance of senior team members. \nStay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices to continually improve your approach. \nParticipate in knowledge sharing, tabletop exercises, and training sessions to build your technical competency in security tooling and incident response. \nMust be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings \nSkills:\nCuriosity \nAdaptability \nDetail-Oriented \nCommunication \nProblem Solving \nMultitasking \nCritical Thinking \nThreat Detection & Response \nVulnerability Management \nSecurity Automation \nPhysical Requirements:\nIn-Office Environment: Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions\nMust be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings \nOffice Conditions: Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels\nMobility: Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches. Use of hearing aids or other assistive devices is acceptable if needed.\nReading and Writing Proficiency: Ability to read and write in English is essential for processing documents, drafting reports, and following up on necessary actions. Proficiency in written communication is required to handle job-related tasks effectively.\nVision Requirements: Vision must be adequate or correctable to perform essential job duties, such as reading documents on a computer screen and using other visual tools.
