This is a hands-on consulting role requiring deep AWS engineering expertise, strong technical leadership, and the ability to design and deliver production-grade cloud platforms.\nThis role is not suited to candidates whose experience has primarily involved deploying applications into AWS environments designed by others. We are specifically looking for an engineer who has personally designed, built, configured and operated AWS infrastructure in production and can confidently own architecture, security, networking and operational decisions.\nYou'll play a key role in shaping AWS architecture, driving CI/CD transformation, enabling Salesforce integrations, improving observability, and providing technical leadership across multiple workstreams.\nRequirements\nAWS Cloud Engineering & Architecture\nOwn AWS solution architecture, platform design and environment configuration.\n\nDesign, build and operate AWS infrastructure supporting production workloads.\n\nMake key decisions around AWS service selection, security, networking, scalability, resilience and operational management.\n\nDrive infrastructure automation and standardisation using Infrastructure as Code.\n\nEnsure cloud solutions are secure, maintainable and aligned to AWS best practices.\n\nLead technical design discussions and provide architectural guidance across delivery teams.\n\nSalesforce ↔ AWS Integration\nDesign and build integrations between Salesforce and AWS-hosted systems.\n\nImplement synchronous API integrations, EventBridge event-driven integrations and S3-based batch processing solutions.\n\nDesign secure, reliable and supportable integration patterns.\n\nExtend Salesforce capabilities through AWS-native services where required.\n\nCI/CD & DevSecOps\nLead the migration from GitFlow to trunk-based deployment and promotion patterns.\n\nDesign and implement secure CI/CD practices within GitLab.\n\nImprove security scanning capabilities using Snyk and related tooling.\n\nDrive DevSecOps best practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.\n\nObservability & Reliability\nEstablish and enhance observability across AWS and Salesforce platforms.\n\nImplement monitoring, tracing, dashboards and alerting capabilities.\n\nLeverage Amazon CloudWatch and recommend additional tooling where appropriate.\n\nImprove operational visibility and platform reliability.\n\nTechnical Leadership\nLead and mentor engineers across the programme.\n\nEstablish technical standards, engineering practices and architectural governance.\n\nProvide technical direction while remaining actively involved in delivery.\n\nCommunicate complex technical concepts to both engineering and business stakeholders.\n\nCollaborate with cloud, CRM, platform and business teams to ensure successful delivery.\n\nGoogle Cloud for Data Teams\nSupport the setup and configuration of Google Cloud environments used by the data teams.\n\nAssist with IAM, project configuration and foundational infrastructure for BigQuery and Google Analytics workloads.\n\nRequired Experience and Skills\nMust-have\n8+ years in infrastructure/cloud engineering, including 5+ years designing and operating production AWS.\n\nProven experience as an AWS Cloud Engineer, AWS Platform Engineer or AWS Solutions Architect.\n\nExtensive experience designing, building and operating production AWS environments.\n\nDemonstrable ownership of AWS infrastructure and architecture decisions.\n\nStrong experience configuring and troubleshooting AWS services directly.\n\nExperience making architectural, security and operational decisions for cloud platforms.\n\nStrong knowledge of AWS networking, IAM, compute, storage, monitoring and security services.\n\nExperience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation or AWS CDK, including testing and validation of IAC.\n\nExperience building integrations using services such as API Gateway, Lambda, EventBridge and S3.\n\nHands-on observability experience using CloudWatch, monitoring, tracing and alerting solutions.\n\nIndependent technical ownership and mentoring experience is a plus.\n\nExcellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.\n\nAdvantageous\nSalesforce integration experience, including Platform Events, Change Data Capture and REST/Bulk APIs.\n\nGoogle Cloud Platform experience, particularly IAM, BigQuery and project setup.\n\nStrong GitLab CI/CD experience, including trunk-based deployment approaches.\n\nExperience with Snyk or similar SAST/SCA tooling.\n\nAWS X-Ray, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Grafana or similar observability tooling.\n\nAWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Associate, Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional.\n\nExperience delivering large-scale cloud transformation or platform modernisation
