Snack time, lunch and rest are also part of the daily routine.\nSmall Wonder Childcare is a program of Dwight Early Childhood Division.\n----------------------------\nInfant/Toddler Program Lead Teacher\nFull Time: 8:30am-5:30pm\nStart date: November 2, 2026\nCompensation commensurate upon experience: - $28-$30/hour\nPosition Overview\nWe are seeking a self-directed, experienced, and energetic educator for a Lead Teacher position in the Infant /Toddler Program for children ages 6-24 months old for an immediate opening. Candidate must have at least 2 years of experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting.\nResponsibilities:\nSet up and maintain a safe, healthy, nurturing classroom environment. Work collaboratively with the assistant teacher(s) to prepare and implement activities.\nCommunicate with parents and administrators in order to provide continuity and communication between home and school. Document and share the important milestones in their child’s day. Maintain a professional relationship with parents and respect confidentiality.\nCollaborate with other faculty and staff members to coordinate efforts and make joint program decisions,\nWillingness to engage with and learn from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, and to teach to a range of learners.\nEnsure compliance with the most current NYC DOHMH rules and regulations.\nSupport and monitor health, wellness and safety procedures and policies.\nQualifications/Requirements:\nB.A./B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required\nAt least two years of experience as a group teacher or on the teaching staff in an infant/toddler child care program\nStrong skills in early childhood development, including meeting the social and emotional needs of children as well as addressing cognitive and academic skills\nStrong oral and written communication skills\nDisplay a commitment to diversity and create a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging in approach to teaching and learning, as they are recognized and valued by Dwight School.\nWe are committed to making our recruitment practices barrier-free and as accessible as possible for everyone.
