Secondary responsibilities include ensuring production schedule adherence, meeting production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and troubleshooting production issues. These functions are performed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that produces existing and new products.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nContinually strive to improve workplace safety and enforce compliance with Company environmental, health, and safety standards and policy\nProvide technical development and mentoring for machinists and setup technicians to improve skills and capabilities within the department\nDevelop, troubleshoot machine programs as needed, in conjunction with department leadership and CNC Engineering\nEnforce compliance with Company policy and administer disciplinary action as appropriate\nIdentify continuous improvement opportunities in the machining processes and assist management with implementing those changes from idea to realization. \nAssist in training of setup operators and machine operators on multiple machine platforms\nWork with Design Engineering as required to resolve manufacturing issues and strive to improve manufacturability of product design \nAssist in implementing and managing an effective machine data collection system\nCreate and maintain machine shop documentation and provide work instructions to ensure process control\nReview time and attendance for department and submit to payroll in timely manner\nEnsure proper housekeeping and segregation/collection of scrap materials and waste\nKey Performance Indicators (KPI’s):\nSafety Incident Rates\nOverall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)\nProduction Cycle Time\nLabor Efficiency\nFinished Goods Quality\nCustomer On-Time Shipment\nDepartment variable spending\nRequirements\nRequired Skills / Experience / Equipment Operation:\n5+ years Supervisory experience and proven ability to effectively lead individuals and teams.\n10+ years experience and training in metal machine shop practices.\nExpertise in operation and set up of both manual and CNC metal machining equipment \nKnowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawings\nGeneral CNC Programming capability for multiple platforms (Horizontal Mills, Vertical Mills, Sub-Spindle Lathes, etc.).\nMust display and maintain a positive attitude.\nMust have a continuous improvement mindset and be able to present and implement positive change\nPhysical/Mental Essential Functions:\nAbility to stand for prolonged periods of time\nAbility to reach above shoulders\nAbility to walk back and forth through-out facility\nAbility to control operation with hand or foot\nAbility to lift / carry up to 70 pounds.\nAbility to turn wrist frequently in repetitive motion\nWorking Conditions:\nWork environment is fast paced.
