Our team of engineering experts help our customers select technical, and often configured, product solutions for their unique applications.\nWhat You’ll Do\nWe are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Engineering Drafting team. The selected candidate will assist in preparing and revising technical drawings and documentation to support engineering projects and product updates. Responsibilities include implementing engineering changes, updating bills of materials, and maintaining accurate Product Data Management (PDM) records. This role requires proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, a foundational understanding of engineering principles, and strong attention to detail.\nEssential Job Functions\nCreate product documentation change requests to revise and release bills of materials (BOMs). \nRevise existing drawings, designs, and related documentation to implement approved engineering change requests. \nSupport Product Data Management (PDM) data card updates and enrichment to ensure accurate, complete, and well-maintained engineering documentation. \nInterface with cross-functional team members to gather information and clarify documentation and submittal requirements. \nCollaborate with engineers and designers to ensure the accurate and timely completion of drafting and documentation requests. \nRequirements\nMust be a full-time student enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or university; Major in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design and Drafting, CAD Technology, or other related field is strongly preferred. \nKnowledge of 2D and 3D mechanical design using CAD packages such as SolidWorks or equivalent packages. \nKnowledge of 2D and 3D CAD engineering design software, and engineering materials and their properties. \nKnowledge and understanding of digital engineering filing systems, workflows, and change/update processes. \nAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings. \nWorking understanding of Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).\nAbility to work efficiently with little supervision. \nWillingness to perform a variety of tasks. \nCompetencies\nCommunication Skills - The ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally with all levels of supervision on the status of jobs. \nDependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. \nDesign - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. \nEngineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. The employee will regularly transition between office workstations and active production areas. Manufacturing environments may include exposure to machinery, mechanical equipment, and other manufacturing conditions.
