DXC Technology is an American information technology services company formed in 2017 by merging Computer Sciences Corporation with the enterprise services division of Hewlett Packard Enterprise. It runs and modernises the IT estates of large organisations, covering cloud and infrastructure operations, application management, security services, and industry software for insurance, banking and healthcare clients across some seventy countries. Headquartered in Ashburn, Virginia and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, the company has spent recent years shrinking legacy outsourcing revenue while trying to grow consulting and engineering work.

Job Description:

DXC Technology is committed to building diverse, inclusive teams. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly encourage interest from women, underrepresented groups, and neurodivergent candidates. We offer reasonable adjustments throughout the hiring process and are dedicated to creating a supportive, accessible environment for everyone.

BCDR & Safety Manager

Location: Hampshire (onsite 5 days per week)

Due to the nature of the work and the customers we support, the successful candidate must be eligible to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including the applicable residency requirements for the role, and have the right to work in the United Kingdom. Some roles may also be subject to nationality requirements where these are necessary to meet UK Government or contractual security obligations.

Key Responsibilities

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

  • Develop and maintain Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs), recovery runbooks, escalation procedures and communication plans, ensuring they reflect the current operating environment and are submitted to the customer/Authority for review and approval.
  • Coordinate Business Impact Analysis (BIA) activities to identify critical services, assess disruption impacts, prioritise recovery and inform appropriate continuity and recovery strategies.
  • Maintain the BCDR programme, coordinating periodic plan reviews, recovery exercises and assurance activities in line with contractual requirements.
  • Maintain an overview of critical services, recovery dependencies, sequencing, RTOs and RPOs, ensuring alignment with the configuration management database (CMDB), service catalogue and agreed recovery strategies.
  • Coordinate recovery exercises across technology towers, including infrastructure, identity, network, storage, backup and applications, validating end-to-end dependencies and recovery procedures.
  • Assess recovery readiness, including backup, replication and secure restoration arrangements following cyber incidents, and report gaps against agreed recovery targets.
  • Define exercise objectives, document outcomes and lessons learned, and track remediation actions through to completion.
  • Review service changes for BCDR impact, ensuring recovery documentation and testing arrangements are updated where required.
  • Coordinate BCDR communications during exercises and live disruptions, providing stakeholders with recovery progress, risks and readiness updates.

Safety & Environment Management

  • Maintain controlled safety, environmental and sustainability documentation in accordance with contractual, regulatory and customer/Authority requirements.
  • Provide accurate and timely safety information and supporting evidence to enable the customer/Authority to develop, maintain, review and approve the relevant safety case or cases.
  • Obtain and maintain current Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for applicable hardware and coordinate reviews of safety assessments and related documentation when services or configurations change.
  • Develop, implement and maintain the Sustainability Plan, establishing measurable targets and reporting arrangements for carbon emissions reduction, elimination of single-use plastics and reduction of chromates and other hazardous substances.
  • Coordinate relevant safety and environmental risk assessments, compliance activities and corrective actions across internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors and the customer/Authority.
  • Support incident and near-miss reporting, audits and assurance reviews, ensuring findings and improvement actions are documented and tracked.
  • Monitor environmental performance against agreed targets and identify opportunities to improve safety, environmental compliance and sustainability outcomes.

Governance, Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Coordinate BCDR, safety and environmental governance, providing clear reporting on readiness, risks, compliance, exercise outcomes and improvement actions.
  • Work with technical leads, service delivery teams and stakeholders to resolve dependencies, address gaps and maintain alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Maintain accurate, version-controlled documentation and evidence, ensuring information is accessible, traceable and audit-ready.
  • Escalate significant risks and overdue actions through the agreed governance process.
  • Coordinate reviews and submissions for customer/Authority approval, providing supporting evidence and assurance without assuming formal approval authority.
  • Capture lessons learned and drive continual improvement across resilience planning, safety management and environmental performance.

What you'll bring
