The role involves improving system configurations, developing new features, and ensuring application stability and performance.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport business operations by enhancing system configurations and developing new features for COBOL / mainframe applications\n\nMonitor, analyze, and troubleshoot system or production issues; identify root causes and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence\n\nEnsure application performance, quality, and responsiveness\n\nMaintain and improve code quality, including automation in testing processes\n\nAnalyze technology trends and identify opportunities to enhance system efficiency and business productivity\n\nContribute to and maintain accurate documentation for development and production support processes\n\nEnsure documentation and procedures are up to date and optimized for efficiency\n\nWork Experience\nSenior: More than 6 years of development experience; strong understanding of development processes and prior experience as a technical lead\n\nExperience in supporting production systems and business users will be an advantage.\n\nExperience in finance, banking, or insurance industries is preferred.\n\nAcademic Requirements\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology or a related field\n\nAlternative learning paths (e.g., bootcamps) may be considered\n\nITIL certification is an advantage\n\nRequired Technical Skills\nProven experience as a COBOL Developer or in a similar role\n\nStrong understanding of mainframe technologies and environments (batch and online processing)\n\nProficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and TSO\n\nUnderstanding of legacy system modernization techniques\n\nFamiliarity with IBM RTC tools is a plus\n\nBasic knowledge of SQL\n\nAt DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success.
