Learn more on dxc.com\nWe are seeking a Forward Deployed Azure Engineer to work closely with New Zealand Government and regulated-industry customers, turning priority requirements and architecture into secure, production-ready Azure solutions. Embedded with customer and DXC teams, you will write code, build pipelines, troubleshoot complex issues and iterate quickly with users and stakeholders. The role will use automation-first and DevSecOps practices to build platforms and land workloads on Azure, including the sovereign Azure New Zealand North region, while contributing reusable modules and patterns to DXC's Nucleus Cloud Engineering Platform.\nWhy this role matters\nYou will help customers move from intent to working cloud capability by combining hands-on engineering with close customer collaboration. You will deliver approved environments consistently, solve delivery constraints in context, reduce manual effort and leave behind maintainable code, evidence and operational knowledge.\nWhat you will do\nWork alongside customer engineering teams to build and enhance enterprise Azure Landing Zones and shared platform services using Infrastructure as Code, adapting reusable patterns to the customer's environment and priorities.\nDevelop modular, tested and reusable Bicep and/or Terraform components, parameter sets and deployment patterns.\nEngineer and automate workload migrations to Azure - including landing zones deployed from pipelines and rehost/replatform patterns into Azure New Zealand North.\nDesign and maintain secure CI/CD workflows in Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions using YAML, pull requests, approvals, quality gates and deployment evidence.\nImplement policy as code, automated compliance checks, secrets management, least-privilege access and secure software supply-chain controls.\nEngineer Azure networking, private connectivity, DNS, identity integration, logging, monitoring, backup and resilience capabilities.\nCreate automated validation, testing, linting, what-if or plan review, drift detection and controlled remediation processes.\nBuild and support AKS and container-platform capabilities where required, including secure configuration, deployment automation, monitoring and lifecycle management.\nIntegrate platform delivery with operational tooling and processes, including observability, incident response, configuration management and service transition.\nOwn complex platform, pipeline, identity, networking and deployment problems through to resolution, using rapid diagnosis, practical experimentation and root-cause fixes rather than repeat manual workarounds.\nProduce clear engineering documentation, runbooks, as-built records and handover materials suitable for restricted and audited environments.\nCollaborate directly with customer and DXC teams through agile delivery, pairing, peer review, demonstrations and technical workshops, using feedback to iterate toward usable production outcomes.\nMentor other engineers and contribute improvements, standards and reusable assets across the Azure Practice.\nWhat you will bring\nStrong hands-on experience engineering Microsoft Azure platforms in enterprise environments.\nPractical experience delivering production Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD solutions, not only administering tools.\nHands-on experience migrating or landing workloads on Azure using automated, repeatable methods.\nSolid knowledge of Azure identity, networking, security, governance, monitoring and operational fundamentals.\nExperience applying secure engineering practices and working within formal change, assurance or audit requirements.\nAbility to diagnose complex issues across code, pipelines and Azure services and communicate findings clearly.\nHigh standards for code quality, documentation, peer review, repeatability and operational supportability.\nCollaborative mindset, customer focus and willingness to mentor and share knowledge.\nAbility to lead customer engineering engagements, build trust with customer engineering counterparts and provide hands-on technical direction while remaining accountable for practical delivery outcomes.\nDesirable experience\nKnowledge of NZISM, Protective Security Requirements or delivery experience within NZ Government or another regulated environment.\nExperience with the sovereign Azure New Zealand North region and data-residency-aware deployment.\nAzure Verified Modules, Bicep, Policy as Code, Configuration as Code.\nAzure DevOps, GitOps; Kubernetes security; platform APIs; developer portals or self-service platform engineering.\nAnsible Automation Platform, ServiceNow integration, SRE practices, FinOps automation or Azure Arc.\nExperience supporting data platforms, AI platforms or Azure AI services from a secure platform-engineering perspective.\nQualifications and certifications\nMicrosoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) is strongly preferred for senior appointments, or achievable within an agreed timeframe.\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) is strongly preferred.\nHashiCorp Terraform Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700) or Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD) are advantageous.\nA tertiary qualification in information technology, engineering or a related discipline is desirable; equivalent professional experience will be considered.\nHow to apply & our commitment to you in return\nIf you would like to be part of a culture that drives innovation, delivers results, rewards performance and encourages ideas, then please press the \"Apply Now\" button to submit your resume.\nAt DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success.
