Some roles may also be subject to nationality requirements where these are necessary to meet UK Government or contractual security obligations.\nAs a Junior Network Operations Centre (NOC) Engineer, you will provide first and second-line monitoring and initial-response support across DXC's managed-service customer environments. Working with experienced NOC engineers, you will monitor network health, triage alerts, log and progress incidents, complete routine operational checks, carry out basic troubleshooting, and escalate more complex issues in line with agreed service levels and ITIL processes.\nKey Responsibilities:\nMonitor network performance, availability and alerts across the managed estate. \nTriage network events and complete initial diagnosis of incidents. \nResolve routine issues and escalate complex incidents to Level 2 or Level 3 support. \nPerform scheduled health checks, daily operational tasks and basic troubleshooting. \nCreate, update and track incidents and service requests using a service-management tool such as ServiceNow. \nKeep customers and internal stakeholders informed through clear and timely ticket updates. \nFollow DXC incident, change and problem-management processes, runbooks and security procedures. \nAssist senior engineers with network changes, implementations, testing and routine maintenance. \nSupport basic configuration and physical activities, including staging and patching, where required. \nMaintain technical documentation and knowledge articles. \nDevelop technical and vendor skills through training and on-the-job learning. \nWhat you'll bring:\nFoundational knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching concepts, DNS and DHCP. \nAwareness of network monitoring, alert triage and troubleshooting principles. \nFamiliarity with, or willingness to learn, a service-management or ticketing platform such as ServiceNow. \nClear written and verbal communication skills. \nA proactive, customer-focused approach and a strong willingness to learn. \nAbility to remain calm and methodical when responding to alerts and incidents. \nActive DV security clearance. \nA degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. \nTypically 0-2 years of experience in network support, IT operations or a relevant technical environment. Graduates and early-career applicants are welcome. \nDesirable Skills:\nExposure to Cisco, Aruba or Fortinet enterprise networking technologies. \nAwareness of ITIL practices, firewall concepts and wireless LAN technologies. \nExposure to Microsoft Azure networking, Linux or Microsoft Visio. \nAn entry-level certification such as Cisco CCNA, Aruba Associate or ITIL Foundation\nAt DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success.
