You’ll work across hardware, software, networking and bespoke client systems, helping to deliver everything from changes to existing configurations through to complete new-site deployments.\nIf you have a strong IT support background, understand military environments and enjoy solving technical problems while working directly with customers, this could be a great opportunity.\nDue to the nature of the work and the customers we support, the successful candidate must be eligible to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including the applicable residency requirements for the role, and have the right to work in the United Kingdom. Some roles may also be subject to nationality requirements where these are necessary to meet UK Government or contractual security obligations.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nDeliver hardware, software and infrastructure projects, from configuration changes through to complete new-site installations.\nProvide on-site implementation and technical support for end-user training systems.\nDiagnose and resolve issues across hardware, networks, operating systems and peripherals.\nSupport deployments, updates and technology roll-outs.\nWork with complex bespoke systems, including training, audio/visual, networking and telephony solutions.\nUse your understanding of network design and customer infrastructure to troubleshoot complex issues.\nDevelop installation and escalation plans to support successful project delivery.\nWork as part of a small team, making decisions on complex technical and business issues.\nCommunicate technical solutions clearly to customers and colleagues at different levels.\nDeliver work in line with strict guidelines, standards and customer quality expectations. \nWhat we’re looking for\nYou’ll ideally bring:\nAt least 3 years' experience within an IT support organisation.\nStrong experience working with people at different levels within a military environment.\nExcellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.\nGood knowledge of network design and topology.\nStrong understanding of ITIL incident management, including working to SLAs and keeping customers informed.\nHands-on experience delivering technology solutions on-site and working under pressure to meet deadlines.\nExperience researching and troubleshooting complex technical issues.\nProject delivery experience within environments governed by strict MoD guidelines and standards.\nDemonstrable configuration management experience.\nStrong organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. \nDesirable technical knowledge\nExperience or knowledge across some of the following would be advantageous:\nLAN and WAN\nWi-Fi and 4G\nEthernet and Secure+ Ethernet\nADSL, FTTC and SOGEA\nCore networks\nCircuit mapping\nVLANs\nAt DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success.
