This role is central to ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of core insurance platforms that support critical business operations.\nThe successful candidate will serve as a senior technical authority, driving incident resolution, performance optimization, and application enhancements across complex Mainframe environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Mainframe applications, analyzing business and technical requirements, and coordinating deployments and releases with minimal disruption to the business.\nBeyond hands-on technical work, this role carries significant leadership responsibility-mentoring development and support teams, leading code reviews and technical walkthroughs, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to ensure successful project and production outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Mainframe professional to apply deep domain and technical expertise to high-impact, large-scale initiatives.\nEssential Job Functions\nProvide advanced production support and troubleshooting for mission-critical Mainframe applications and environments.\nLead technical support, incident resolution, and performance optimization for Mainframe-based applications.\nDesign, develop, test, debug, and maintain complex Mainframe applications while adhering to established coding and quality standards.\nAnalyze business and technical requirements and implement enhancements for complex application modules.\nSupport and coordinate application deployments, releases, and production installations while ensuring minimal business impact.\nAnalyze batch and online processing workflows and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), runbooks, and operational documentation.\nConduct and participate in technical reviews, code reviews, and walkthrough sessions to ensure solution quality and best practices.\nPlan, manage, and execute development activities in accordance with defined methodologies, processes, and governance standards.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and support organizations to drive successful project and production outcomes.\nProvide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to development and support teams.\n\nBasic Qualifications\n20 to 25 years of overall IT experience, including 15+ years of deep expertise in WMA/Vantage products and Life Insurance systems.\nStrong technical proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and related Mainframe technologies.\nLife Insurance domain experience is strongly preferred.\nOther Qualifications\nExpertise in Vantage/WMA product architecture and functionality.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and production support skills.\nExperience leading large-scale enhancement, modernization, and support initiatives in Mainframe environments.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.\nAt DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success.
