Some roles may also be subject to nationality requirements where these are necessary to meet UK Government or contractual security obligations.\nThe Network Architect is responsible for the design, development, and governance of enterprise network architectures across data and voice domains. This role ensures that network solutions are robust, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with both client requirements and industry standards. Operating across the full ITIL 4 Service Value Chain, the Network Architect drives architectural excellence from strategic planning through to operational support, while leading cross-functional teams and influencing investment decisions that shape the organisation's network capability.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nPlan & Strategy\nDefine and maintain network architecture roadmaps aligned with client and organisational strategy.\nResearch technological advancements to ensure voice and data networking solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards.\nEvaluate cost analyses and vendor comparisons for large-scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations.\nRecommend investment decisions to management and customers based on independent assessment of current and future network performance, stability, and management issues.\nDesign & Transition\nGenerate conceptual, logical, and physical network architectures with supporting documentation, testing analyses, test plans, and risk assessments.\nDetermine methods and procedures for implementation of new technologies to enhance performance.\nAssess customer needs and determine the most appropriate architectural approach.\nEnsure all designs pass through defined tollgates with appropriate entry/exit criteria before progressing.\n\nObtain/Build & Delivery\nLead cross-functional teams that analyse, design, troubleshoot, and implement network architecture to meet client requirements.\nLeverage resources from different teams to ensure customer needs are met.\nLead major proposal efforts and create strategies to win business in new markets or current accounts.\nMeasure feasibility of various approaches and assess current and future systems.\nOperate & Support\nTroubleshoot the most complex data and voice network and hardware problems.\nResearch and analyse significant, complex network problems that require evaluation of intangibles, including downstream effects on client satisfaction.\nEnsure network solutions remain operationally stable and within agreed service levels.\n\nRequired Skills & Experience\nExperience in networks, LAN/WAN, or management information systems.\nStrong experience working with network systems, data and voic.e \nA background working with networking principles, data and voice \nExperience working with proprietary software and hardware \nExperience working with computer systems across enterprise environments.\nAnalytical and creative problem-solving skills for design, creation, and testing of network architectures.\nProject management skills with the ability to manage time, priorities, and tasks effectively.\nStrong interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members at all levels.\nExcellent communication and presentation skills.\nLeadership ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nDesired\nMaster's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.\nIndustry-recognised network certifications (e.g., CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, or equivalent).\nITIL 4 Foundation or higher certification.\nAt DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success.
