Some roles may also be subject to nationality requirements where these are necessary to meet UK Government or contractual security obligations.\nAs a Network Engineer you will be responsible for the design, implementation, support and troubleshooting of physical and virtual network infrastructure across secure enterprise and data-centre environments. The role encompasses traditional LAN, WAN, routing, switching, firewall and security technologies alongside software-defined and virtual networking services.\nKey Responsibilities:\nMaintain data network hardware and systems.\nInvestigate and resolve network and hardware issues.\nAnalyze, isolate, and troubleshoot network errors.\nAssess and upgrade legacy network components as needed.\nProvide technical support for both internal and external customers.\nRespond to technical inquiries and recommend solutions.\nLead network problem escalation and resolution.\nMentoring junior Network Engineering staff.\nFeed into LLD/HLD creations.\nInstall and maintain network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and system data for small to medium-sized networks.\nDeploy network applications on servers and voice equipment.\nConduct network testing, maintenance, and problem resolution.\nPerform network configurations and implement configuration changes on Routers, Switches, Firewalls and Security appliances.\nWhat you'll bring:\nStrong enterprise LAN/WAN routing and switching knowledge.\nStrong troubleshooting skills across physical and virtual networking.\nExperience with Cisco and/or Aruba enterprise networking.\nFirewall and network-security experience.\nPractical experience supporting Virtual networking environments.\nUnderstanding of Virtual networking segments, Tier-0/Tier-1 gateways and distributed firewalling.\nGood understanding of VLANs, routing, segmentation and physical-to-virtual network integration.\nAbility to contribute to HLDs, LLDs, implementation plans and technical documentation.\nDesirable Skills:\nAdvanced SDN administration and troubleshooting experience.\nExperience with network overlays and software-defined networking.\nSDN Edge and north-south/east-west connectivity knowledge.\nExperience integrating virtual networking with enterprise firewalls and load balancers.\nNetwork automation/API experience, for example Ansible, PowerShell or Python.\nAt DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success.
