You’ll design and run HA/DR solutions, optimize workloads, automate routine operations, and lead incident response and root-cause analysis for business-critical systems. Working in an international team, you’ll partner closely with application, Unix, storage and security teams, and help drive migration and modernization projects, including moves to containerized and cloud platforms. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys performance tuning, resilience engineering and clean automation, and who takes pride in keeping critical systems running.\nDaily Challenges\nAdminister, monitor and maintain PostgreSQL, DB2, MySQL, Informix and MongoDB databases in production and non-production environments.\nResolve incidents and problems within SLA, perform root-cause analysis and prevent recurrence.\nPlan and implement changes: patching, version upgrades, migrations and database encryption.\nDesign and test backup, recovery and high-availability solutions.\nTune performance, plan capacity and manage storage for growing workloads.\nAutomate routine DBA tasks and keep documentation and the CMDB up to date.\nWork with customers, application, Unix and storage teams across Europe, including planned out-of-hours activities.\neXperience and Skills Required\n5+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA, with strong expertise in at least two of PostgreSQL, IBM DB2 LUW, MySQL/MariaDB, IBM Informix and MongoDB, and working knowledge of the others.\nSolid experience with installation, upgrades, patching, backup/restore, point-in-time recovery and performance tuning.\nExperience with high availability and replication solutions such as Patroni/streaming replication, DB2 HADR, MySQL Group Replication, Informix HDR and MongoDB replica sets.\nStrong Linux administration skills (RHEL/SUSE) and scripting in Bash, Python or Perl.\nFamiliarity with ITIL processes and ServiceNow, and readiness to take part in on-call duty and planned out-of-hours maintenance.\nKnowledge of Ansible, monitoring tools (e.g. Dynatrace), containers/OpenShift or cloud platforms is a plus.\nFluent English.
