The successful candidate will balance business-as-usual (BAU) ownership (including production support, incident response, and defect prioritization) with forward-looking product discovery and delivery for our flagship platform. \nThe role is hybrid. Candidates will be expected to work Canadian Eastern Time hours to support Canadian clients and delivery teams during Canadian business hours.\n\nKey Responsibilities \nTranslate product strategy, customer needs, compliance considerations, and operational dependencies into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications. \nPlay a key role in backlog refinement and estimation \nPlan and manage sprints for the team. \nRun daily standups with the team. \nProvide input to and assistance with user documentation \nCreate formal functional specifications and system design specifications where necessary \nTroubleshoot support issues to determine whether resolution requires development fixes \nTriage and support production incidents escalated to Product \nHelp manage the transition from legacy conveyancing products to the Unity platform by supporting phased migration, customer readiness, internal enablement, and operational continuity. \nMaintain a strong understanding of customer workflows, competitor offerings, regulatory expectations, and market trends in Canadian conveyancing and AI-enabled legal technology. \nWork closely with Product Management, Engineering, UX, QA, Support, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and regional subject-matter experts to deliver platform capabilities that are commercially viable, operationally supportable, and technically scalable. \nThis role requires a Product Owner who can operate with urgency, structure, and sound judgment in a high-priority transformation environment. \n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise \n4+ years as a Product Owner / Business Analyst in software development context. \nStrong Agile delivery experience, including backlog ownership, refinement, sprint planning, estimation support, running standups, acceptance validation, and release readiness. \nExperience translating business and customer needs into prioritized, actionable work for engineering. \nProven ability to write clear and high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, functional specifications, process flows, business rules, and create simple wireframes. \nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate defects, reproduce issues, analyse data, identify root causes, and work with engineering toward resolution. \nAble to produce functional/system design specs (where necessary) and partner on user docs and release notes. \nTechnical fluency with APIs, SSO, and basic SQL for validation. \nAbility to research competitors, analyze market trends, and incorporate insights into product decisions. \nExcellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align competing priorities across Product, Engineering, UX, QA, Support, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and regional business teams. \nFamiliarity with legal practice management workflows (matter management, billing, trust accounting, conflict checks) will be a distinct advantage. \n\nBenefits \nAt Dye & Durham we strive to be visionaries!
