This role supports laboratory and LHSC operations by maintaining optimal stock levels, coordinating ordering and receiving activities, and ensuring smooth distribution of supplies across sites. The Inventory Coordinator works closely with procurement, warehousing, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues, maintain data accuracy, and uphold quality and safety standards.\nStatus: Contract Full-Time\nHours of Work: Mon-Fri, day shift\nLocation: Downtown Kelowna with travel to LHSC sites as required\nWorkstyle: 100% onsite\nInternal Deadline Application Date: October 2, 2026\nWhy Dynacare is an amazing place for YOU:\n\nJoin an award-winning \"Top Employer\" with meaningful and impactful career opportunities\nAccess a health and wellness benefits program that supports you and your loved ones\nGrow and thrive with a dynamic, successful company through internal mobility opportunities\nInvest in your future through RRSP match benefits and an employee stock purchase program\nExperience a collaborative, diverse workforce that prioritizes dignity and respect for all\nHow YOU will make a difference:\nInventory Management\nMaintain and monitor appropriate inventory levels to support uninterrupted laboratory and LHSC operations.\nPerform routine and ad-hoc inventory counts; reconcile variances and investigate discrepancies.\nRecord purchases, update inventory databases, and ensure data accuracy and traceability.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce material costs by analyzing consumption patterns, waste, and product usage.\nOrdering & Procurement Coordination\nPrepare and submit purchase orders; track order status and proactively resolve delays or issues.\nInterface with the Oracle ordering platform and collaborate with the procurement department to ensure timely replenishment.\nFollow up on service concerns, supplier issues, and non-conformances; escalate incidents when necessary. Receiving & Distribution\nReceive incoming material orders and verify that all goods meet quality and condition requirements.\nUnpack, stock, and organize inventory in designated storage areas to support efficient retrieval and distribution.\nCoordinate with the warehousing team to ensure timely fulfillment and delivery of supplies to LHSCs and other internal clients.\nManage the distribution of materials to end users while tracking usage and ensuring accountability.\nCompliance, Safety & Operations Support\nEnsure all inventory activities comply with standard operating procedures, quality regulations, and safety requirements.\nUse personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, lab coats) in accordance with EHS procedures.\nMaintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment in all storage and receiving areas.\nSafeguard the confidentiality of patient information and adhere to organizational privacy standards.\nWhat YOU bring to the role:\nMinimum high school diploma or equivalent\nMinimum one (1) year of experience in an inventory management/related field or equivalent experience, preferably in a healthcare setting\nScience/medical background is an asset\nMedical Terminology course is an asset\nWorking knowledge of WHMIS\nFluency in English, both written and verbal\nValid driver’s license and abstract and access to reliable vehicle\nWorking Conditions\n\nNormal office environment\nMedical laboratory environment\nAble to lift a minimum of 40 lbs (pounds)\nRepetitive movements \nBending, turning and kneeling as well as walking required\nAble to endure extended period of time in walk-in fridge and freezers\nPerform duties in stationary, standing and sitting positions\nExposure to noise, chemicals, solvents and bio-hazardous materials\nPay rate: $21.50 to $24.00 per hour\nThe hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements.\nAt Dynacare, we may leverage AI-powered tools in our recruitment process.
