You also play an important role in providing customer service to create the best possible patient experience. These can be stressful situations for patients, and you need to display empathy, care, and kindness. Contribute to meeting the departmental/corporate quality metrics, regulatory compliance and quality indicators\nWhat YOU bring to the role:\nYou are CSMLS or BCSLS certified and/or a graduate of an MLA program accredited by BCSLS or equivalent awarding body (Canadian)\nApplicants with a Bachelor degree in a related scientific discipline, or international MLA or MLT qualification, AND a minimum of 1 year patient-facing phlebotomy experience may also be considered\nYou are customer-focused with a genuine care for patient’s health\nDemonstrate skill in phlebotomy, with the ability to manage anxious patients through the sample obtaining process in a pleasant, calming and reassuring manner\nPrioritize and self-manage within a deadline-oriented environment\nBe extremely detail oriented\nProficiency in English, both written and verbal, at a level that enables you to communicate instructions, clearly and understandably, to patients\nAbility to attend shifts at various LHSCs across region\n25 to 40 words per minute typing speed required\n\nWorking Conditions\nNormal office environment\nMedical laboratory environment\nRequired walking with repetitive motions\nRequired to float amongst listed locations as required\nMay sit or stand for prolonged period of time with extensive computer use\nRequired to lift a maximum of 30 pounds as required\nExposed to bio-hazardous substances, temperature differences and noise variances\nAt times might require frequent standing, sitting, bending, etc.\nPay rate: $27.00-$30.75 per hour\nThe hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements.\nPassionate about supporting healthy lives with commitment and care?
