Working as part of a team, you will assist in building a positive team environment, maintaining quality metrics and creating the ideal customer experience.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nPerforms a variety of routine laboratory procedures to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:\nObtains venous and capillary blood specimens. \nPerforms all routine procedures, such as urine collections, specimen preparations. \nFollows all guidelines for handling of infectious materials. \nMaintains accurate records for all test and control results. \nPrepares QC statistical reports on monthly basis. \nPerforms routine equipment maintenance and calibrations. \nRequired to observe all safety precautions in the performance of all duties. \nOther duties as assigned. \nSKILLED KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:\nKnowledge\nGraduate of a Laboratory Technician program or equivalent previous experience. \nMedical terminology an asset. \nTechnical Skills\nExperience with phlebotomy. \nSocial Processing Skills\nAbility to multitask and work in a team environment. \nAttention to detail and organizational skills are essential. \nAbility to function in a fast-paced environment. \nAbility to work independently. \nExcellent communication skills.\nPlease refer to Article 2 and 7 of the Collective Agreement regarding temporary positions, job postings, promotions and transfers.\n\n**This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
