smarter, and more productive.\nWe are seeking a highly motivated Buyer at Oragadam, Chennai to join our Purchase team on a full-time basis.\nMajor Responsibilities & Accountabilities:\nProcurement Operations\nCreate, issue, manage, and monitor Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with approved Purchase Requisitions (PRs), procurement policies, and delegated authority limits.\nEnsure timely placement of orders and obtain supplier acknowledgment and confirmation of all purchase orders.\nMonitor and maintain open order reports, ensuring timely follow-up and closure of completed orders.\nTrack supplier commitments and update delivery dates, pricing, lead times, and order status within the ERP system.\nMaintain accurate purchasing master data and procurement records within the ERP system.\nExpedite orders when required and proactively manage pull-ins, push-outs, shortages, and schedule changes.\nCoordinate purchasing activities with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and other internal stakeholders.\nSupplier Management\nServe as the primary day-to-day contact for suppliers.\nManage supplier communications regarding order confirmations, deliveries, shortages, quality issues, lead times, pricing discrepancies, and service performance.\nFollow up on supplier commitments to ensure on-time delivery and timely resolution of supply issues.\nEscalate critical delivery, quality, capacity, or service concerns as needed.\nSupport supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.\nParticipate in supplier meetings related to operational performance and issue resolution.\nMaterial Availability & Production Support\nEnsure uninterrupted supply of materials and services required to support production schedules and business operations.\nMonitor MRP outputs and purchase requirements to support demand plans and production needs.\nIdentify potential material shortages, supply risks, and inventory gaps and implement corrective actions.\nWork closely with production planners and operational teams to mitigate supply disruptions.\nSupport new product introductions, engineering changes, and product lifecycle activities from a procurement perspective.\nInventory\nMonitor inventory levels and purchasing requirements to maintain appropriate stock levels (together with Planning)\nSupport inventory optimization initiatives while maintaining required service levels and production continuity.\nAssist in reducing excess and obsolete inventory through proactive purchasing and supplier coordination.\nEnsure compliance with inventory policies and targets.\nCost Management\nSupport local cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives.\nIdentify opportunities for process improvements, supplier efficiencies, and operational savings.\nSupport sourcing and negotiation activities as delegated by Procurement Management.\nEnsure purchases are made in accordance with approved contracts and negotiated supplier agreements.\nQuality and Compliance\nEnsure suppliers meet required quality, delivery, and compliance standards.\nSupport resolution of supplier quality issues by coordinating with Quality and supplier representatives.\nFollow procurement policies, procedures, contracts, and approved supplier requirements.\nEnsure procurement documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.\nPromote ethical sourcing practices and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.\nContinuous Improvement\nParticipate in procurement process improvement initiatives.\nSupport implementation of procurement best practices, digital tools, and ERP enhancements.\nContribute to improvements in supplier performance, procurement efficiency, and operational excellence.\nMaintain strong cross-functional relationships to support business objectives.\n\nRequirements\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Business Management (or equivalent).\n6 to 7 years of experience in procurement / buying within a manufacturing or engineering-driven environment.\nBenefits\nBest in
