As our range of academic programmes expands towards postgraduate degrees for existing Dyson engineers around the globe, we are searching for a talented and innovative Coaching and Experience Officer to join our Coaching and Experience Team.\nAbout the Role\nAs a Coaching and Experience Officer, you will be part of our Coaching and Experience Team.\nCoaching and Experience Officers play a significant role in the academic success, personal and professional development as well as the wellbeing of students at the Dyson Institute. Each postholder acts as a designated point of contact for a cohort of students, providing proactive and reactive support, guidance, coaching, and case coordination.\nThis is an exciting opportunity to be part of a passionate, supportive team in a unique and outstanding higher education provider.\nCoaching and Experience Officers support in areas of:\nUnlocking student potential to maximise performance academically and in the workplace\nStudent mental health and wellbeing\nSafeguarding and early intervention\nDisability support and reasonable adjustments\nInclusivity and a culture of belonging\nBroadening perspectives and encouraging self-reflection\nCritical support and interventions\nCollaboration with external agencies\nWorkshop and training delivery\nYou’ll be based on the Dyson technology campus in Malmesbury and will report to the Coaching and Experience Lead.\nKey Responsibilities\nCoaching, Personal and Professional Development\nDeliver structured coaching and mentoring to support academic, professional and personal growth.\nContribute to the design and delivery of Professional Development Days\nUse active listening, motivational interviewing and solution-focussed techniques.\nIdentify individual learner needs and tailor coaching strategies to support students learning preferences and development\nPromote resilience, self-awareness and self-management alongside wellbeing literacy\nStudent Wellbeing and casework\nProvide 1:1 guidance on matters relating to mental health, wellbeing, disability, learning needs, personal development and workplace/academic transitions.\nConduct professional, trauma-sensitive, psychologically safe wellbeing conversations.\nMaintain accurate, confidential and compliant case notes.\nManage a diverse caseload, triaging needs, escalating concerns appropriately and collaborating with members of the Institute, Dyson staff and external services.\nApply relevant legislation and HE regulatory frameworks including the Equality Act 2010, Prevent Dudy, GDPR, Care Act 2014, OIA and OfS expectations.\nEarly help, Safeguarding, Escalation and Risk Management\nStaff at the Institute are required to have due regard for safeguarding and the welfare of all students. The postholder must act in accordance with statutory duties, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004, the Care Act 2014 and the Counter-Terrorism and \nSecurity Act 2015 (Prevent Duty) as well as related institute policies.\nEscalate safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Deputy as appropriate.\nContribute to welfare checks, risk assessments, personal emergency evacuation plans and coordinating appropriate adjustments and agreed support for vulnerable students. \nInclusive Practice, Accessibility and Belonging\nChampion inclusion across the Institute through proactive engagement, student voice and co-design of wellbeing initiatives.\nRecognise, value and respond sensitively to the diverse identities, backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.\nAbout You\nThe ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who has previous experience working with young adults in higher education, further education or in a community setting such as youth or social work. You will be an outstanding communicator with a commitment to supporting students on their academic, personal and professional journeys while at the Institute. You will be expected to be proactive, engaging, and confident in your approach, while adopting a collaborative way of working.
