We are a global department with teams located in the UK, Singapore, and China and we encourage flexible, independent, and innovative thinking in our engineers to deliver solutions.\nWe’re building world-class cross functional Agile teams to deliver our ambitious vision in the connected space.\nIf you thrive on working in a collaborative, stimulating, dynamic environment and relish difficult software engineering challenges then we’d like to speak to you!\nAbout the role\nAs a Lead Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for the Out of the Box experience of all Dyson Connected products, this includes pairing the Dyson Link app with connected products and building API and microservices for Connected products.\nYou will be using Node.js, C# or whatever is right for the job - to run in containers or as serverless functions within the AWS cloud. You will be responsible for features from inception to delivery, ensuring that all software produced is to the highest standard. You will be working collaboratively with the team in paired programming and mobbing sessions to ensure that we deliver the right solution for the problem at hand.\nThe team follow agile methodologies and are keen to ensure that the latest and best practices for software development are followed; all team members are encouraged to contribute to these evolving standards.\nYou’ll be doing\nDesign, develop, test, and deploy microservice and serverless applications on AWS.\n\nEnsure designs are scalable, robust, secure, and high-performance.\n\nUnderstand integration with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration.\n\nMonitor, measure, and investigate production issues and lead issues to closure\n\nBuild and manage end to end ETL pipelines for data ingestion from disparate sources\n\nBuild data rollups and data structures aligned with data analysis requirements\n\nDevelop and deploy dashboards using Tableau (other BI tools) to facilitate data analysis and reporting.\n\nCollaborate in team-based development sessions\n\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship.\n\nEncourage design pattern and best practice definition.\n\nDrive to learn and champion new technologies and best practices.\n\nYou’ll have:\nHave a good foundation in Cloud Architecture and Development\n\nStrong proficiency in AWS cloud platform\n\nExpertise in cloud-native technologies: microservices, serverless computing, containers, APIs.\n\nExperienced with continuous integration and continuous delivery techniques and tooling\n\nSolid skills in DotNet Core or NodeJS development and working knowledge in Python\n\nStrong knowledge of cloud security, identity & access management, and monitoring.\n\nGood knowledge in Tableau and other BI tools\n\nExperience in building production quality software\n\nExposure to automated testing (Unit / Integration)\n\nFamiliarity with Agile working practices\n\nOutstanding communication skills and good leadership.\n\nPlease apply if you:\nThink this sounds fun\n\nLike resolving complicated problems\n\nAn interest in learning new technologies, skills and techniques\n\nHave experience with some of our technologies and tools\n\nTake pride in writing great code\n\nHave a strong background in software engineering\n\nDyson is an equal opportunity employer.
