The role drives issue resolution, root cause investigations, supplier quality engagement, launch monitoring activities, and sustained quality improvements through close collaboration with Joint Development Manufacturers (JDMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), Development Engineering, Market Quality, and Global Quality teams, with the objective of reducing Cost of Quality and failure rates across Dyson’s new categories.\nThe successful candidate will possess strong analytical capability, hands-on engineering experience, and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions to deliver world-class customer quality performance.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduct Quality Leadership\nLead investigation and resolution of critical product quality issues impacting customers, manufacturing operations, and product launches.\nDrive containment, corrective actions, and long-term preventive solutions for recurring product failures.\nMonitor quality performance metrics and identify emerging risks through data-driven analysis.\nOwn risk assessment and prioritisation of product quality concerns.\nFailure Analysis & Technical Investigation\nConduct structured root cause investigations using engineering methodologies and quality tools.\nLead product teardowns, component analysis, and failure replication activities.\nInterpret field failure data, warranty trends, repair data, and customer feedback to identify systemic issues.\nCollaborate with development teams to translate findings into design improvements.\nLaunch Monitoring & Issue Management\nSupport product launches through proactive monitoring of quality KPIs and customer feedback.\nMaintain visibility of launch risks and drive timely closure of critical issues.\nCoordinate cross-functional investigations during launch monitoring periods.\nEnsure all issues are tracked, documented, escalated, and resolved in accordance with company quality processes.\nChina Supplier & JDM Engagement\nAct as the primary quality interface between Dyson and China-based JDM/CM partners for new category products.\nDrive accountability for quality performance, corrective actions, and 8D investigations.\nConduct regular technical reviews with supplier quality, engineering, and management teams.\nEnsure suppliers maintain robust problem-solving discipline and timely issue closure.\nInfluence supplier prioritisation of critical product quality risks.\nData Analytics & Continuous Improvement\nLeverage quality systems, dashboards, and data analytics tools to identify trends and improvement opportunities.\nPerform Pareto analysis, issue trending, and risk prioritisation activities.\nDevelop reporting mechanisms to support management decision-making.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing customer dissatisfaction and warranty costs.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with Market Quality, Engineering, Reliability, Manufacturing, Service, and Regulatory teams.\nProvide technical leadership during quality reviews and executive escalations.\nSupport communication of risks, status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders globally.\nMentor junior engineers and support capability development within the team.\nOther Responsibilities\nUndertake other duties and responsibilities as required in line with the overall purpose of the role, including supporting new activities, driving operational improvements, developing supporting documentation, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and ways of working across the business.\nKey Deliverables\nReduction of customer-reported quality issues.\nTimely closure of critical investigations and CAPAs.\nImproved supplier responsiveness and problem-solving effectiveness.\nSuccessful launch quality performance.\nRobust technical understanding of field failures and emerging risks.\nHigh-quality reporting and stakeholder communication.\nRequired Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.\nMinimum 3 years of experience in quality engineering, reliability engineering, product engineering, supplier quality, or failure analysis roles.\nExperience working with China-based manufacturing or development partners.\nWilling and able to travel within China as required to support supplier engagement, technical reviews, investigations, and launch or quality activities.\nProven track record in technical problem solving and root cause investigation.\nExperience supporting consumer products, electromechanical products, robotics, home appliances, or related industries preferred.\nTechnical Skills\nRoot effectively across different cultures and time zones.\nStructured and data-driven decision-making.\nExcellent communication skills in English and Mandarin.\nComfortable working in ambiguous and fast-moving environments.\nHands-on approach with strong technical curiosity and engineering judgement.\nCommunication Requirements\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin.\nAble to communicate complex technical findings clearly to China-based suppliers, JDM/CM partners, and global stakeholders.\nConfident in leading technical discussions, quality reviews,
