We’re growing fast and our ambition is huge - more categories, more locations, and more people.\nAbout the role\nAs a Product Engineer, you will play a key role in turning engineering designs and product concepts into real, buildable products.\nYou will have the opportunity to be involved in the development of a new product category, working with cross-functional teams to help shape products from early development through to production.\nThis is a hands-on, cross-functional engineering role with broad visibility across the product development lifecycle. You will be closely involved in prototype build planning and execution, product configuration and technical product development, while helping to bridge the gap between engineering development and manufacturing.\nThe role is well suited to an engineer who enjoys understanding products at a system level, working across disciplines and taking ownership of getting products from design into physical builds and ultimately into production.\nPrototype Build Management\nOwn prototype build planning from understanding product and test requirements through build completion and sample allocation.\nTranslate SKU, product configuration and test requirements into clear and executable build matrices, defining product variants, quantities, priorities and intended allocation.\nCoordinate BOM readiness, engineering releases, materials, tooling and manufacturing readiness activities required to support successful prototype builds.\nWork closely with internal engineering teams, contract manufacturers and development partners to align build requirements, coordinate build activities and resolve technical issues throughout product development.\nPrioritise prototype builds and allocate completed units according to development and test criticality.\nSupport build planning and execution within agreed project timelines, resource constraints and budget considerations.\nMaintain accurate build records and configuration history to support product development and traceability.\nProduct Configuration, BOM & Traceability\nEnsure product BOMs accurately represent the intended SKU and finished-good configuration, including applicable components, assemblies and accessories.\nWork closely with SKU and product teams to establish SKU configurations and market variants.\nDefine product identification and traceability requirements for devices, attachments and accessories, including product labelling, rating plates and appropriate serial or batch/lot identification.\nOwn the product-level implementation of these requirements, working with Regulatory, Compliance, Quality, Graphics and other relevant functions.\nProduct Integration & Development\nAct as the product engineering focal point across Engineering, Technical, Manufacturing, Quality and Testing teams, coordinating inputs and driving resolution of product-level issues throughout development.\nDevelop a strong understanding of the product and how it works, using this knowledge to connect engineering, testing and manufacturing activities and drive robust product outcomes.\nSupport product transfer into production by ensuring product definitions and configurations are complete and aligned with manufacturing requirements.\nAbout you\nDegree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Manufacturing, Product Engineering or a related technical discipline.\nBasic understanding of new product development, product lifecycle, SKU range, and business processes, including technical terms, engineering drawings, BOMs, and product specifications.\nExperience with prototype or pilot build planning and execution.\nAbility to recreate and modify SKU BOMs and drawings based on design, specification, and manufacturing process changes.\nWorking knowledge of CAD tools is required; hands-on experience with SolidWorks, Siemens NX/UG-NX or equivalent is highly preferred.\nStrong project management, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities and work across functions.\nAble to take ownership, work independently and drive issues through to resolution.\nExperience in medical devices or other regulated industries, with familiarity with ISO 13485 or equivalent quality management systems.\nDyson is an equal opportunity employer.
