Working closely with category leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, you will drive execution excellence, resource optimization, and alignment with business objectives.\nYou will be responsible for building team capability, defining and standardizing engineering practices, and ensuring consistent delivery quality across projects. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and deep functional expertise to guide teams through complex product development activities.\nOperating with a high degree of autonomy, you will drive continuous improvement, enhance team performance, and ensure alignment between engineering delivery and organizational priorities.\nResponsibilities\nLead and manage a team of Product Engineers within a specific product category. \nAllocate resources, assign work, and prioritize tasks across multiple projects based on business needs and team capability. \nOversee execution of product engineering deliverables across projects to ensure alignment with timelines, quality standards, and project strategy. \nGuide and support the team in resolving complex engineering and project challenges. \nDefine, standardize, and continuously improve product engineering processes, tools, and templates within the category. \nEnsure consistent application of best practices and governance across all projects within the team. \nAct as key escalation points for risks, issues, and delivery challenges within the category. \nCollaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, etc.) to ensure smooth project execution. \nDrive team engagement, performance, and alignment with organizational goals. \nCoach, mentor, and develop team members to build capability and support career progression. \nLead continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization and lean activities. \nSupport stakeholder and management initiatives to improve ways of working, efficiency, and delivery performance. \nAccountabilities\nAccountable for overall delivery performance of the product engineering team within the category across multiple projects. \nAccountable for effective resource planning, allocation, and utilization to support project priorities and team workload balance. \nAccountable for ensuring all product engineering deliverables meet required quality, compliance, and governance standards. \nAccountable for consistency and standardization of engineering practices, tools, and templates across the category. \nAccountable for acting as engineering approver in Teamcenter (e.g., BOM & SKU drawings, rating plate releases, requirement approvals, CR releases). \nAccountable for building team capability through coaching, training, and development planning. \nAccountable for recruitment, performance management, and engagement of team members aligned with business objectives. \nAccountable for embedding continuous improvement and best practices within the team to enhance efficiency and reduce risks. \nAccountable for stakeholder alignment and ensuring engineering delivery supports broader business and project goals. \nAccountable for driving improvements in processes, tools, and ways of working across the category. \nAbout you\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification\nTechnical & Domain Knowledge\nIn-depth knowledge of new product development, product lifecycle, product engineering, and SKU management. \nStrong expertise in engineering drawings, product specifications, business BOM, and manufacturing processes. \nAbility to guide and consult on complex technical and engineering challenges. \nLeadership & People Management\nProven experience in leading, managing, and developing engineering teams. \nStrong coaching, mentoring, and performance management capability. \nAbility to build high-performing teams and drive engagement and accountability. \nResource & Delivery Management\nStrong capability in resource planning, workload balancing, and project prioritization across multiple projects. \nAbility to oversee complex project delivery and ensure alignment with timelines and quality expectations. \nProcess & Operational Excellence\nStrong understanding of engineering processes, governance, and best practices. \nAbility to define, standardize, and improve tools, templates, and workflows. \nKnowledge of OPEX management, end-to-end product development processes, and business policies. \nTools & Systems\nExpert working knowledge of Teamcenter, Siemens NX, Ariba, Bartender Designer, and Microsoft Office tools. \nStakeholder & Communication\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills to align team deliverables with business and project objectives. \nAbility to cascade information clearly and drive alignment across teams. \nDyson is an equal opportunity employer.
